Trooper interested in return; Vols to interview Troy Calhoun (per Wes Rucker)

A source from Air Force said Troy Calhoun is tentatively scheduled to interview for #Vols job in the next 24-48 hours.

All I'm saying re: Trooper is that he would be interested. I know this to be 100% fact. Doesn't mean it will happen, though.

Why not? Nothing says "return to dominance" like running the triple option in the SEC in 2010.

apparently neither has our EE's because they (specifically miller) has said if we hire Calhoun, they will transfer.

seeing SEC head coach with that guy. This would be a very bad, blah hire, IMO. This would be like marrying a fat girl after the blonde dumps you. He's like a half-notch up from Dave Clawson, if that. You need more than a "good character" to win in the SEC, baby--we're talking going mano a mano with the big boys. This guy would also demand a year's supply of hair dye---not good.

I agree... and you guys know my position regarding The Fired Coach. I feel the same way about the prospect of hiring Mini-Me as well.

Calhoun did at least just lose to TCU by three, and he killed Houston...with service academy players. It's not like he could even recruit kids to just be football players there.
