If you are a Selmer native, I should ban you for being a turncoat. If you moved there of your own free will, I should ban you for being brain damaged. :p

Edit: I grew up in Henderson.

I married a selmer native take that as you will. I lived in Savannah

I know you will think I am lying, but Buford Pusser was my first cousin once removed. Or second cousin, genealogy confuses me. Regardless, his mother and my paternal grandfather were siblings.

Hand to God...

No disrespect, dude, but Bufford Pusser stole my wife's dog when she was a child. She is from Adamsville and I swear this is a true story.

I have no illusions he was a saint. The guy died when I was two or three. I have no real memory of him. My dad grew up with him. He has some good stories.

You're not the first to suggest this, I've seen it mentioned on this site before. It seems like a good idea to me, but I don't even know if it is possible.

I've seen it before. The site had a 25 post minimum to be allowed to start a thread. I'm sure that number could be whatever you want it to be.

My mom and step-dad live in Savannah now (Carrington St, I think). I think there is a street there after my sd's father. Watson Street. Anyway, I met Buford once at church in Adamsville. That man could fill a doorway!

Has there ever been any thought of putting some restrictions on starting new threads? It just seems like more and more often we are getting trolls and spammers joining the site, posting a couple ridiculous threads/posts and then leaving. Maybe some sort of minimum post count before you can start a thread, etc. Maybe I am wayyyyy behind on this.

Something for Freak to include in the welcome kit?

There is little you can do to protect from human spammers. Usually, the captcha stops bots in their tracks, but there are other modifications that i'm sure are in place when registering. In my forum, it simply asks you what color the sky is. A program can't answer that question, so the spam in my forum decreased to just the human spammers (previously, I was getting 20-30 spam msgs a day). It went to virtually zero.

I thought this thread was going a completely different direction, so forgive me in advance:
