He has been great today.....Nothing but the best for him.
He is a player for sure he is like a 5th year pro the way he is playing today.

Looks like he was playing next to undeveloped scrubs all those years here doesn't it?

It was bizarre watching him fall in the draft. Goes to show the "experts" are also idiots sometimes.
Scrolling down that draft is cringey. When Brady is enshrined, the only other classmate to greet him is Brian Urlacher.

Every team is kicking themselves rn. Even the Chiefs…for not picking him sooner.
It's a horrible feeling. I'm a Cowboys and Titans fan. Trey Smith would be starting for both teams for the next decade at least. Its just mind boggling how people get paid so much money to evaluate talent just completely whiff. Imagine Trey on the Cowboys OL. Goodness.

No not every team. Some teams are set at guard.
Like my Bears…still KICKIN. Generational talent. Teams that were set at interior OL in the 90’s not kick themselves for passing on Larry Allen?

Looking good today against the Eagles. The man he engages is simply never a factor in the play.

I think the Chiefs were in a unique position with offseason O-line acquisitions - They had Kyle Long (who got injured over the summer). They had "Larry" Laurent Duvarnay-Tardif, "the Canadian Doctor," who took off the Covid year but was planning to return. And They had acquired Joe Thuney. All three of these guys looked like solid starting guards, so KC was able to take a chance on a guy who looked great but who may not really have career because of medical issues. You could argue that they had acquired enough talent during the off-season that taking a guard was irresponsible. But so far it seems to be working out really well. If the Chiefs can shore up their D, they will have a good season. And there's reason to believe that will happen - Spag's defenses have taken time to gel in the past, and the Chiefs started the season with several injuries which are slowly trickling back into the line-up.

Micah Parsons. Mac Jones. Kyle Pitts. Asante Samuel Jr.: The NFL All-Rookie team at the quarter mark

theathletic all rookie team:

Interior offensive line

Trey Smith, Kansas City Chiefs (6th round, No. 226)

Smith was one of the most difficult evaluations in the entire draft. A former five-star recruit, he flashed first-round ability at Tennessee, but medical concerns and a sloppy senior season were anchors on his draft grade. Some thought he could be a top 100 pick, so it was a surprise to see Smith fall so far. The Chiefs wisely took a gamble on his talent.

Smith has been dialed in on the Chiefs’ recharged offensive line and has played like the steal of the draft. He has allowed only one sack on 159 pass block snaps and he has yet to commit a penalty. Smith has also shown his versatility, playing mostly at guard, but also helping out at tackle.

Really wish the Titans had him. But we wanted a Practice Squad WR in the 4th and a garbage OL in the 2nd instead.
The Titans really didn’t need a guard. They definitely need tackles though. Lewan and Quessenberry couldn’t block my 83 year old grandmother right now.

Meh, Titans management hasn't earned very much good will in the draft the last few years. Take the talent over 2 practice squad WRs, a special teams player, and a NDSU bust.

Steal of the draft thus far.

Couldn't have happened to a better person. So glad to see players like him and Cordarrelle getting attention. Even Callaway got him a TD the other day.
