Trey Smith Cleared to Play

JG didn't get the ball out fast enough last year even when Smith was playing. Hopefully he won't need 10 seconds to make up his mind this year... how's that for over the top exaggeration?

Hopefully both the OL and JG will be better.

Hey! It took more than 50 posts to turn a celebration thread into a JG bashing thread! Things really are looking up!

He has been through a ton. Really happy for him. I just realized that this guy is not even 21 yet.

This line could be a real plus for us this year. I hear he will be at guard to start.

Okay, I'm very nervous right now. First we get Solomon eligible and now Trey is cleared to play. This is UT. Good things don't happen to us. WTH is going on? This just isn't right.

If we get Bituli back healthy soon and somehow we keep Thompson, we good.

This times a thousand! We need to KEEP ALL STARTERS or 95% HEALTHY TOO! We don't need to lose more than one starter/major contributor throughout the season! If the injury bug doesn't bite UT, I can see a 9 win regular season, minimum of 8 regular season wins!

CJP said they "had a plan" to get Trey ready to play. I'm wondering if part of that plan is having medical professionals on hand in case Trey gets cut? Do they have any way to monitor him between series to check for clotting? I feel without a doubt that CJP will do whatever is in the best interest of Trey.

He isn’t on blood thinners why would they need to check him if he gets cut.....

While I get why everyone is celebrating, this is scary. I realize that he wouldn’t be cleared to play if everything seemed fine but I don’t know. I fear for Trey.

I’m with you on that. This situation kinda coincides with what Inky talks about during team meetings, Trey has more heart and love for the game than most who have no complications. He’s doing what he loves no matter the consequences and I have nothing but mad respect for him.
