Trey Erwin, battling pancreatic cancer, has died today. Erwin was visited by Tyler bray and I think Justin Hunter and also Jarnell Stokes. Erwin lived a great life and for those of you who don't know he's been trending on twitter.
Justin hunter tweeted "heaven just received a special angel" talking about trey. It's amazing how much support he's getting.

Very sad news. I live in the same town as him. The amount of support he received from all over was remarkable. His courage and faith has inspired and touched a great deal of people. Trey is in a far better place. Pray for the Erwin family when you guys hit your knees tonight.

From Collierville to Southaven to Olive Branch and all the surrounding areas here in the mid south are praying for this young mans friends and family. What a great young man I only had the pleasure to meet 1 time at one of the Grizzlies game. Just a sad day for this young mans friends and family, thoughts and prayers go out.

RIP. Trey Erwin

SmokeyHound, thank you for the post. I have developed a relationship with the Erwin family since March. My non-profit has been raising money for the Erwin family since then. You can visit our website to see my tribute to Trey.

I will attach a picture from one of our fundraisers in Collierville, taken with Trey's parents. Here was Lisa's email from earlier today...

@LisaErwin13 Trey is healthy in heaven. No need to pray for Trey!!! Pray for the Erwin's

Trey Erwin, the Collierville teen diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 months ago, passed away today around 3:30pm. Jay, Trey's dad announced that Trey was now "cancer free in Heaven."
Trey had been rallied around by both the UT football and basketball teams. Coach Dooley brought him to the O&W Games and spent some time with him and Jarnell Stokes had taken him under his wing during the last few months of his life. Puts everything in perspective. Trey's father is a Memphis Firefighter/Paramedic and the family, as well as Trey, have been incredibly strong.

Prayers for the entire Erwin family.

Just absolute horrible news. Things like this really put life and other things into perspective, knowing a kid lost his battle with cancer. It makes you think that the problems we have in life sometimes aren't really that bad. I just pray that he had a great life and got to enjoy it to the most absolute fullest. Definitely will keep his family in my prayers.

At least he is no longer in pain, and is walking with Jesus.

Been following Trey and his family since seeing him at the Spring game. Trey never complained and was always positive. He should be an inspiration to all of us to live every to it's fullest and be thankful for what we have. He was amazing kid and an Angel among us. Godspeed Trey...we will see ya on the other side. God bless his family in their time of sorrow.

Is this the same kid that was at the O&W game? Prayers go out to his family and friends in this tough time. It's always hard to lose a loved one, but makes it harder that he was young. I hope all his friends and family can remember that he is no longer hurting or suffering.
