Yeah I was sitting 3rd row right behind the bench and got some gatorade on me. We weren't even yelling stuff other than his name. We screamed at Sturgis the whole game and got no response out of him, but McCray, Orr, Easley and one of their coaches all were jawing at us. The police ended up trying to deal with the McCray situation

Yeah once we chose to receive kickoff, I knew it was an insurmountable defeat and left.

But seriously when is the last game the team made fans who left early regret it, Arkansas '98?

I'm one of the ones who left early, first time in my life at Neyalnd. Sitting in the UF section for the 3rd time in a row at Neyland I refused to stay and listen to their celebration. Why stay and watch a game down 17 with 6 min left when the outcome is known and I can get a head start on my 4 hr drive home?

Maybe Arkansas in '02. UT had the game well in had with a 17-3 lead midway through the 4th quarter only to blow it in the final minutes and need 6 OT's to win. A lot of people had already left when the wheels came off. I don't know if they regretted missing the OT's. It was a frustrating but exciting game to be at. Maybe not quite the scenario you were thinking of though.

Who cares what others think about you leaving early. You paid for the tickets. Your the one who drove to the game, not them. Screw em.

I think the team should be less worried about the fans leaving and more worried about why fans are leaving. I will say right now if I leave early and we ever come back and win I'll never leave early again. It's the team's job to win the games not the fan's. Can't believe Dooley would say that the fans killed their momentum...

But you know it had to be discouraging, to look up in the stands and see them half empty after it was a packed house. It had to suck.

UT was dominated when it counted and they have quitters on that team. Yes I am talking about Bray.

Florida earned it and put UT back in their place. It effing sucks, but its true.

Funny quote considering their stands have been empty the past two seasons and they hardly travel and they're only a few years removed from a NC.

If it bothers them enough, maybe they will consider not quitting next time. Obviously it hasn't gotten to them enough that they are willing to give 60 minutes worth of effort to keep people in the stadium.

I stayed until the last second rolled off. As did several in my section. I'm sure I had the "right" to leave early. But I chose not to because its what I've always done and always will do as a fan. As a player I hated watching our "fans" leave on us when we were in high school. I'll never do it. Ever.

I watched the defense try and pump up the crowd in the fourth quarter. The team didn't quit. Got outplayed and exposed yes, but never quit.

Really?? Link to back up your accusations would be nice. So your excuse is it is alright to leave early because your team has not been mentioned in NC talks in a long time?? You have never seen our stands as empty as your were yesterday with 9 to go down only two scores. Speak facts and not what you fool yourself into believing. I was in the kitchen when we got our second pick and thought you guys made a big play from the sound of the crowd but it was the UF fans. Stop making excuses for being a lazy fan. A REAL fan supports their team through good and bad times.

Your side has experienced nothing but good times for most of the last 20 years. You actually have the nerve to come on a Vol site after the game and lecture us on loyalty. Get off your high horse and go to your home board.
