Trey Burton calls us "front runners"

I stayed, but am really looking hard at when I'll be back. The multiple years of beatdowns coupled with the way our team was positioned and then simply QUIT, has me pretty pissed at the product being sold at almost DOUBLE the ticket price of a few yrs back. I think that I'll get some fishing in and grass cut and then watch them on espn3

By all means please do!

Your choices are basically:

Go to a home game against a bad team so you can see a win

-or-

Go to a home game against a good team and just hope you don't see UT get destroyed.

actually remember telling my wife something similar. kinda pathetic to say you're a fan when you leave 9 minutes into the game...you think that makes recruits want to come here? #FanCardsRevoked

You actually got a point I didn't tthink of that. Maybe our fans need to be reminded of this if we want a complete roster. I wouldn't want to play for people like that. I sat there and suffered it like the players and the other fans. If I was a player it would make me feel the people who makes the stadium electric and who we give our all for in the great state of Tn don't care or believe in me so why try. Great point.

His team just beat us for the 8th year in a row.....so there's pretty much no comeback that can trump that.

he's right. fans were leaving early as hell.

Maybe the team should give us a reason to stay longer. I knew once we went down 2 scores in the 4th that the game was as good as gone. Why wait around and hear the annoying gator fans chant from the upper deck? This is the UT football reality.

You can say this all you want, but he is right. Once this team sees that things aren't going to be easy, it shrinks back and quits.

It lacks the mental toughness that it takes to compete not just in this league, but in any league (and especially in this league). No other school in the SEC lays down like we do right now, and that is embarrassing.

You just described our fan base and especially many of the posters to this thread perfectly. Our fan base shrinks and quits so quickly.

I have listened to or watched 25 Florida games since '84. Only 6 times have we been on the winning side! That is miserable. What's worse is Tenn. has lost big with very few close losses. I consider single digits a close game. 2000 and 1999 were close losses. 1985 was close. The rest of the games have seen the team get soundly beaten or destroyed. Losing to Florida has gotten so old people are taking a "why bother attitude?" That kind of sh*^ hurts and after awhile you expect it to happen again and dont want to experience it anymore.

In a few weeks 'ole Florida will have to play LSU. Burton wont be so smug then. LSU will use Florida as a scrimmage to get ready for 'Bama. Florida will get to see a "front runner" up close.

Frankly, after what he did to us on those two carries alone earns him the right to say anything he pleases. So more power to him. As a lifelong Vol fan I have earned the right to say what I want and I say Burton is a pr1ck!

What's the old saying about the definition of ignorance? We're not ignorant for pulling hard or hoping and praying, and i didnt think it would be easy but I was ignorant for expecting us to win today. I'm sure I ain't the only one.

It's like going to the movie theaters. If the projector sucks, lighting sucks, speakers suck, and the seats are crap. Your gonna leave in the middle of the movie and expect your money back.

Nobody stays til the end. And says well I'm a fan of going to the movies so F everyone who left. You guys aren't real fans of the movies.

With about 7 minutes left, ESPN was showing the fans leaving...I guess the 70,000 that were left were the TRUE fans of this team.

Let them talk . They've earned to right after beating us for basically a decade... I don't know why anyone is getting on the fans.. They showed up in mass, filled the stadium and were treated to a pile of horsesheet in the second half... They probably just couldn't stand to watch any more of it. I walked away from the TV also in the 4th, guess i'm not VFL....

If the fans would have stayed until the end of the game it could've impressed the recruits to see how dedicated we are. We also should've been loud no matter what, it was way to quiet when we were only down by 7.

They haven't quit paying $80 a ticket to watch what they could at a HS game for $5.

This team has no heart, and that's the worst thing you can say about any sports team. It's embarrassing
