Now I'm just an ole 'nooga boy, tryin' to access the deep thinking of a Vanderbilt graduate, but let me see if I've got this straight... According to Clay, UCF is in a "good" place because they now have $6.1m orangebacks to go shopping for a BETTER AD & HC?

Hmmm. What are the chances they choose someone who is currently employed, and regarded highly enough by their employers to have their own buyout clause?

When UCF gets it all done, somebody please post how much money UCF spends to get back to square one... and opine if they upgraded at either position.

I post articles of general interest to the topic at hand; that does not imply endorsement of their views. If you want a legal disclaimer, I'm sure I can dredge one up from somewhere for you.

On the other hand, I dont spend a great deal of time scouring the threads in order to pick pointless, petty arguments. Don't like the source? Go to another thread.

Ya'll can attack Clay all you want but the fact is he is right. In 2020 the 10th highest paid coach was Lincoln Riley at 6.4 million. As long as UT keeps paying like a mid major or lower level SEC school you will continue to get lower level coaches/results. It seems clear 6-7mil would have got Franklin or Kiffin. But yet again they choose to go cheap route 4 mil ish. They don't care about winning

Selling the UT job with unannounced but expected-to-be-severe sanctions hanging over it
is like selling a used Cadillac over the phone, in a hurry, with no mechanic's report or test drive.

What's the excuse pre sanctions. The sanctions just hit, they haven't been here for 20 years. Always an excuse with UT fans. I have heard "young and inexperienced" and "you must have patience" for 2 decades.

WOW, a keyboard AD and Comptroller!!! Step up and make the big donation then moneybags. Or does a Socialist like you only like big spending when it's somebody else's cash???

Franklin is getting $5.65 at PSU, but keep thinking $6 would have peeled him away to our dumpster fire and having fans like you.

And if you think throwing money of success, Tom Herman, Gus Malzahn, Jeff Brohm, Scott Frost, Wllie Taggart, Charlie Strong, Will Muschamp, Mark Dantonio all Coaches recently in the Top 25 of salary. Plus Harbaugh in the top 3.

Finally, you don't have to worry about it in your bracket, but there's this thing called state income tax. Riley pays 5% of his salary and is at the low end, as does Saban.. Smart is paying 5.75%, and the USC coach will be paying 7%.

Fans like you are the reason this program will continue to suck. Keep paying bargain basement salaries and you will keep getting bargain basement results. You people have just become so conditioned to losing you make endless excuses to justify it.
He won’t take 6, fine what about 7? 8? Either pay like a big boy or get the F out of the way and go to the MAC

Fans like you are why reading VolNation sometimes sucks. You have no f clue what was discussed with various coaches. You have no idea if, for example, White batted around $6-7M with Franklin in an exploratory way. What made sense to discuss with Franklin or Elliott or Hoepel or any number of other coaches would OF COURSE vary based on their current experience and pay level. You people who fancy yourselves athletic directors and think you know exactly what happened and can't bring yourselves to do anything but s over everything are so juvenile, and seem to only want everyone to be just as f miserable as you are even though it will accomplish nothing, though somehow for completely inexplicable reasons that is "getting out of the f way and doing something." How stupid can you get? Geez it must be horrible to live with you.

Lol you feel better you little child? I am completely at peace with where the program is, I really don’t care much anymore. They continue to suck and you all continue to be ok with it and support the coach 100% simply because he’s the coach even when they don’t deserve the support. At least I was lucky enough to grow up in the 90s and see their golden age because they will never come close to that again and so many fans and admin officials are ok with that.

It’s a dummy account. There is one person who is posting half this stuff. In the old days it was hard to create multiples because the mods would just check the IP. Not sure when it got how it is now. My advice, if you see an older account with a low post count that has suddenly become active in the past week put it on ignore.
