Travis Haney - homeruns with D not sure about O

So Saban just sets back and lets the D coordinator do his thing.

And with that said, we all know and saw how he would break his foot off in Kiffin's behind also when he wasn't happy or Kiffin got a little to cute. But, CBJ can't have input obviously.

Dobbs' legs was this offense

Major part given the liability of the OL.

While the OL should be better (seems like thats a reoccurring phrase every year), your asking a green QB to step in to some pretty big shoes that stayed relatively healthy given what was ask of him. With some substantial staff turnover and some play makers to replace to boot.

JD seems to be the favorite but a lot is gonna be asked of him early and how much help he will get is still a question.

Does anybody question Saban's role with his coaches? Coordinators specifically? Im not sure what you would question given his trophy case entries.

Its not the idea of whether a HC should have a lot of input on both sides of the ball, its whether or not he has the ability to make the situation better by doing so.

One has answered that question. The other not so much.

haney just doing his shtick

What's "schtick" about it? I think most everyone agrees.....Warren and Hoke were very good if not homerun hires for the defensive staff, while Canales and Wells were significantly less impressive if not borderline head scratching hires for the offensive staff.

Dude, you rattled off a quarter of the season almost that the offense "sucked" LOL

It was statistically good but the ceiling was much much higher, especially with seeing some of the draft projections on Kamara and Dobbs coming in. Those guys had a lot of wasted opportunity under this staff.

Never said we were flawless. All I know is our offense scored more points than any other SEC team besides Bama last year. There were times I was unhappy with player utilization and situational play calling. But, DUDE, the only team to score more points than us was Bama. You really gonna complain about that? I'm not a Butch sheep, but c'mon.

The VQ guys said Mahoney appeared to be disgruntled.
Said we should expect another 247 story using "Anonymous coaches" soon.

My cousins best friends brother knows someone who said that fans were disgruntled, causing Butch to be disgruntled, causing Mahoney to be disgruntled.

Some people want to bash Butch Jones every chance they get. I think it's okay to be critical, but he also deserves credit when credit is due. Our offense wasn't the real problem last year. I know we sucked at South Carolina and barely beat Appalachian State and Ohio and the second half of Vanderbilt was pitiful. We also scored a ton of points. If that happened because Butch Jones has a heavy hand on the offensive side of the ball then I don't think it's a bad idea if he has the heavy hand on the offense for the coming seasons. Our defense was terrible and Butch Jones made some pretty good hires. I am by no means confident that we will dominate next year but I do believe Butch is getting a little too much hate from some people. Forgive any grammar mistakes because I am using text-to-speech. Flame away

In my book, what you said was fine. As I read this thread, I noticed many of the negative posters I could only read because someone responded to their garbage. Thank you for thinking while you were typing.

Butch has made some missteps, but before I cry like a little twerp that desperately needs his ass kicked, I try to figure out what led to it. The reason for that is I do not automatically think I know more about football than the coaches. And when I make my opinion known, others don't have to change their pants after laughing at me.

Butch has made additions changes where I felt he needed to, and some that I did not expect. And the ones I hoped we would not lose are still here. Now, if he can just buy the book, "How not to make yourself sound like an idiot in a press conference for dummies", this off season might be more productive than I could have dreamed, and spring practice hasn't even started.

We should have outbid the niners for Kyle Shanahan as OC! We could have held some bake sales to help defray the additional costs.

Only way you could raise that much money is a pie in the face booth with the most irritating posters as the targets.

But the pies are just whipped cream overcoating fresh cow chips.

I can't stand Butch Jones. If he wants to be successful he needs to hire excellent assistants and let them do their jobs. This insistence on being the authority on the offense will probably lead to his downfall. Great head coaches know you hire great assistants and let them do their job.

It's his ass this year if he screws up

Anonymous sources=Travis Haney's imaginary friend. You know, the one he caught in bed with his make believe girlfriend.

With the Offensive #s he has put up in the past 2 years, it seems to be working out pretty good for UT. Offense hasn't been our downfall at all!!!

Defense has been the let down both years. If it isn't broke don't fix it, I say!!!:)
