nice piece on Travis last night. He seems to be getting his life together after many years of self inflicted problems. He has started a nice training camp for kids in Lenoir City and seems truly happy. Travis worked for me for a few years and proved that he has a good heart, good work ethic and a desire to become a productive man. My prayers are for his continued success as he stives to make a positive mark on kids.

That is great to hear too bad we never got to see him in a game wearing orange. I did see him in the spring game and he was supposed to challenge Jay Graham that year for the starting spot. Glad to hear he has himself together and is working with kids, I'm sure it is something he enjoys.

That's great to hear. Travis is a couple of years younger than me but no doubt the greatest athlete to come out of LC....well, outside of me. :)

Best high school player I've ever seen in person. Guy was freakishly athletic. Too bad he couldn't keep his head on his shoulders back then.

Wow, I really hope he has matured. He was in trouble into his upper 30's. Not sure what turned him around, but I wish any man well who has the ability to find his way out of the darkness and into the light. Good luck to this man and may he finally enjoy a wonderful life.

My brother was a grade behind Travis and played with him in middle School. He always said Travis was a man among boys out there. He always tells me the same story of how he was playing db and Travis broke one around the edge and the only player between Travis and the end zone was my brother. He said he went as low as he could possibly go at Travis's feet/legs to make the tackle because he had seen countless other kids take Travis in middle or high and get run over/hurt. Needless to say, Travis just stepped over my brother on the way to the end zone. My brother told me, 'ain't no way I'm getting hurt trying to stop that dude ' lol

Your brother made a smart business decision.

Played them in basketball shortly after his act results were released. Needless to say our fans were not nice that night and he was not happy.

I was just too busy chasing skirts back then. I was still a VOLS fan but only cared at game time on Saturdays.

I idolized Travis when I was a kid. Went to many of his games back then. I've hated continuing to see him in the news because of his troubled history. Have hoped the best for him for a long time though and hope he's on the right path. Him and a Travis Adams are my two favorite HS running backs that I've ever gotten to see in person.

This is amazing news. I graduated from UT in 2006 and went to work immediately as a producer/assignment editor/web producer at WVLT. I remember hearing a run on the scanner about a robbery outside Hess Hall and later finding out that Travis (who I had never heard of) was taken into custody. My sports guy (the very talented Daryl Hobby looked at me like I was crazy and proceeded to tell me he had never seen a better HS running back in his life. Travis is on an important mission for himself and the community right now. After seeing this story, I have no doubt he will succeed!

Had he panned out, would there have been a Jay Graham?

I don't guess you ever saw him play, did you? Travis Cozart was a beast. In a lot of ways, his stride reminded me of Eric Dickerson, and he ran sweeps a little like Walter Peyton. If he had not gotten caught up in that stuff, he would have been special. A crying shame.
