Thought this might be helpful to work our way around heavy congestion. 75 between Macon and Atl looks like a parking lot on traffic maps. We jumped onto 129 to 441 to I-20 just east of Macon, and it's smooth sailing.

I won't say I tried to tell everybody but ....

Our trip down was smooth all the way down 75. 7.5 hours flat. This trip home, not so much. You like us continuing up 441, then 20 over to the loop?

If you're headed up 441, you're pretty much committed to that route. You can cut across in a few places, but probably best to go all the way to Madison and catch I-20. Probably 30 minutes from Madison to I-285.

And I'm compelled to tell you that one of the most insane southern style restaurants you'll ever see is on the route you're taking. Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle.

Thanks. Now you had me googling the place and I can't go right now because I live over 7 hours away.

I left at 1:30am. Best decision of the weekend

We left Jacksonville at 6:30 this morning, and I just got back to my house in Knoxville about 45 minutes ago. Was a good call for us to leave early as well, but even still there was a lot of congestion around ATL and Chattanooga. Nothing that ever brought us to a complete stop, but definitely slow going for a few stretches.

Traffic was very slow about 5-10 miles S of Chattanooga on 75 but it was okay once 24 split off. 75 to Kville was good. That was about 2pm
