Talked to a buddy of mine tonight who is on the team. He said there are a few names floating around the locker room of possible transfers....

Here is what he had to say about each

Anthony Anderson - said Anderson has expressed frustration bc he wants to play receiver, not DB.

Walter Brimfield - considered to be soft and not to popular with the new staff

Ahmad Paige - said it was becoming obvious that he might not see the field in the new scheme and with the incoming talent.

BJ Coleman - heard this a few times, but thinks there is not much merit to it at all. (He only mentioned it he said bc it had come up on several occassions) Most of the rumors centered around Duke, but again, I nor he think there is any reason for him to transfer at this point in his career.

These are the names that he had heard. Mentioned that he had heard all the player sans Coleman say it in person. He seemed to think that Paige was the most likely to leave.

Paige and Brimfield are very likely.
Someone said they heard Vlad Richard say that B.J. told the team he was going to Duke.
Anthony Anderson is really tight with Chris Walker and Ben Martin, and he is also very involved on campus, so I find it hard to believe he'd be leaving. Could be wrong though.

Sounds about right in line with what he said....he did not think that Anderson would go, but said it had come up...

That would suck if Paige leaves. Did he progress any this spring after hitting the wall in that scrimmage?

Did your friend say whether Kiffin is making an effort to retain any of the kids likely to leave?

i was at fan day and todd campbell and ahmad paige were telling zach rogers that he could have ahmads number because he was leaving anyways. paige definately looked like he did not want to be there and didnt even see the field until late in the second half of the scrimmage. he is gone asap.

Anthony Anderson, William Brimfield, and Ahmad Paige will likely never see the field in a major capacity anyway, so them opening up scholarships for capable freshman wouldn't be the worst thing that has ever happened.

Hate to see players leave. Good luck to them if they choose to do so. I am sure if they go, they are doing what they feel like they need to do.

I'm sorry, but if Cutcliffe wants him, you know he is going to be good. He is the one that recruited him, and i'm sure he wouldn't mind to have him at Duke, but I honestly don't see it happening.

Hey Paige, I have an easy fix for you... Prove you deserve to be ahead of the incoming talent on the depth chart... No one is putting you there except yourself, and your inability to prove your worth on the depth chart.. :mf_surrender:

I don't understand why Coleman would leave unless he's getting definite signals from the staff that he's not a fit for their system. The depth chart seems to be in his favor especially if we don't grab a top QB in this class which is rumored we may not.

So now we'll only have two suck a$$ QB's to choose from instead of three. Oh wait we'll be back to three when the Rozier kid, or man maybe, gets here.

No we will have two left who are trying to improve. They do not suck a$$ as you say.

Sorry but if any of these kids were going to do anything they would have shown it by now. Oh sure they could come out and tear it up next year but it's highly unlikely. I see the same three QB's I saw last year and they most definately suck a$$. Crompton still stares down receivers, Coleman can't throw the deep ball, Stephens makes bad decisions, and they all either throw in front of, high, low, or behind receivers preventing them from cathcing a ball in stride and making plays. Not to mention that Crompton is still bobbling the freakin snap.

Yeah but like you said it's great that they're trying, really! They've been trying for three years and it's still the same ol story.

So every qb Cut has recruited has turned out to be good?

VolNation, I need some help for my crew. We are heading down for the WKY game. JerseyBoys have an annual football roadtrip and we are visiting various locations. UT kicks off the tour this year. We roll in a large motor home and have a great time everywhere we go. But need your help in choosing/arranging a tailgating location for our large unit(s)! Last year we were subject to some serious lame tailgating at SC. But we know UT will rock so help me out with a few options for locations that are happening and will accomodate a large RV. We would also be willing to join a great tailgate and add a little flava to whatever you have going on! Thanks, CHOF - JerseyBoys

I think this is the thing. IF THERE IS ANY TRUTH TO THIS...did the last staff just go after some wimps or what? I personally don't care how long you've been there or how many stars you had coming in, do you earn it every day?

My advice would be to man up, accept the challenge, and prove you're the best at the position.

Sounds like a bunch of spoiled BRATS that dont want to work hard to stay TN VOLS.

this is crazy
1 - this is a 3rd person rumor
2 - just because the leave the team doesnt mean they are lazy or what not, they may not fit or sit well with the coach. they did come to play for cpf not lane kiffin.
3 - they are scrubs anyway so let them go somewhere they can play. i dont blame a player who wants to play.

No, he was not aware of any conversations that any of them have had with the staff. He said it was just somethings he heard in situations when the team was together (i.e. locker room, weight room, etc)

I can't blame them for wanting to leave. It would most likely work well for both parties. As for Coleman, there's no way he leaves.
