Transfers?

You better hope Usc-JR gets her because ya'll are going to suffer greatly without Wilson.

Ya'll just might become known as TRANSFER UNIVERSITY.

Didn't I read that someone (a coach) passed Howard a note during a game that expressed interest in her transfer? Hmmm.

And Tennessee isn't going to suffer without Russell and Nared?? I guess we'll both struggle next year and maybe UT will be TRANSFER U PART 2!!

Would have most likely been 10-10 if Wilson had played the two SC reg season games. If not fire-able should at least bring about a serious conversation regarding progress and development of young talent.

This is an example of statistics needing context to present the accurate picture. Yep Florida and Auburn would be delighted with 25-8 and a second round out. But we aren't them, at least not yet.

Its not so much the number of losses but how, who, and why we lost. Yes in some cases the second half competition was tougher. But we most often beat ourselves with unforced turnovers. lack of ability to score. and lack of ability to regroup and stop a bad trend.

IMO our decline, and Holly's big deficit, is in the intangibles and coaching the mental aspects, not the physical talent. (Our woefully outdated offense not withstanding of course.) This year the headcase train started rolling downhill the second half at ND and Holly was never able to stop it. And this isn't new, we've seen this all six years under CHW. Lack of mental toughness. This is real area where we miss Pat IMO, not the x and o stuff.

Continuing the train analogy, there's a bunch of comfy berths between the locomotive of Holly Hate and the caboose full of Holly Water Carriers. Most of us are riding there, in the cars of Caring Concern.

You have to give it to Holly. In her first year taking over as head coach she started with the mantra "The Grind for Nine". She has accomplished that goal -TN is averaging exactly "9" losses a year now- or losing about a third of our games. And to think, most of us fans thought that the grind was supposed to be for National Championship 9.

I can't disagree with this.

If you're responding to my post, I was just addressing the statement that we would've had 2 more losses if usce had AW. I didn't disagree with that either. But the injury argument goes both ways, relevant or not.

I wasn't commenting on any one post-- just making a general observation that injuries haven't been the root of our problems. We have been able to capitalize on other teams' injuries, notably SCAR... but it didn't get us further in the end.

I wonder if Dawn is after Amber Ramirez she has to sit a year but well worth the wait.

Howard's mom said they will be taking 5 visits, one being of course to Transfer University.
The other four schools made it to the sweet 16 this year. Tennessee is not in the mix.

None of them.

No one will transfer, however, next year could be a different story. I believe we will have three point guards next year, I think at least one will transfer. To be honest, if I were Harris I would transfer. I do not see her playing very much as a Lady Vol.

Evidently the entire team is staying put no transfers. If it was going to happen needed to be already or certainly within the next few days. You would want to leave at the end of the current semester which I think ends April 30th.
If everybody comes back definitely will need someone to move from the point guard position and that could be Massengill. She is definitely a player that could excel at the two position. I don't think Westbrooks wants to play anywhere but the point and Holly won't try to make her move. Hayes is a point really not another position for her.

He's already made a "move," she's coming back and there was never any serious consideration for making a move.

They'll add a couple of years to her contract for recruiting purposes, but won't greatly increase the buyout.

Good post; however, I think there will be a decrease in the buyout. Phillip and Holly are pals from way back, but there is pressure to get this program back in the winner’s circle.

If Holly doesn’t get to the Elite 8 next year she’s gone. Don’t worry about transfers if Fulmer makes a great hire, which he can do because he knows everyone and had daughters who were athletes.

With the past two classes and future outlooks, this program would look extremely attractive for the next head coach.

If our young ladies work hard in the off season they can help save Holly. if not, we most likely have a new HC this time next year.

If Holly don't get an extension, she may coach like she never has. Knowing her job is in the line if she don't win. Not having a big 5 like Mercedes Russell will force her to change her game plan. Cheridene Green and Kasiyahna Kushkituah both foul a lot so I don't see either playing a lot of minutes. The will need to play 3 guards and Rennia Davis at the 4. If someone gets in foul trouble she may need to play 4 guards. Will just have to wait and see if any pickups.

This isn’t a transfer but with Azurá Stevens leaving I had a few questions... 1 does any one think she was any better for going to UCONN ? As far as player development ? She seemed to be more restricted to the low post where as Duke allowed her to use her stretch four skills and really dominate. 2. Do you think she doesn’t regret sticking and leaving school with a degree from duke rather than UConn ? I know the rumors where that Joanne P. Mcallie were hard to play for but was Geno any easier when he addressed (he called her Z) to the media/ fans for what he saw was her short comings? We all know he is a hard a$$ I practice too and there is a difference between driving a person to be their best and berating them.

She said she left because she wanted to compete for a national title and got a final four but she never got a chance to compete for that goal. Now she says her dream was always to play on the WNBA so if that was your dream why not stay at Duke where you averaged 20 Pts and 10rb rather an 14 and 7? I don’t think it will hurt her draft stock but last year if she had graduated she may have been the number one player.

This is not a bash post but just thinking about her reasons and why they don’t align...
