Transfers

Bowles just completed his redshirt freshman year. He still has 3 years left to make his mark. He played quite a bit on special teams. If he can develop into a really good special teams player I will be happy. Good teams have to have role players. Can't have 85 stars.

Went to a JUCO in California. I believe it was Santa Barbara Community College.

Had a 40.3 yard average.

So I guess he is no longer on our radar? I was excited when I heard the news about the supposed transfer. The rugby punt can be a weapon. Thanks though!

Kiffin told him that if he remained, that he would more than likely not play because he wasn't no Kiffin's plans. With out saying the exact words of "You are no longer on the team" What other words make it plainer??????????

If you are married and your wife says " I don't want to be with you anymore" doesn't that usually mean the same as "I want a divorce

How do you know what Kiffin told BJ? Or are you speculating? Even if Kiffin did tell him that, who gives crap, Kiffin was a moron who made more mistakes than he did good for this program.

I'm not positive but I believe Coker will graduate this December. If true, he can enroll in the spring and be immediately eligible IF he selects a graduate program that FSU doesn't offer. This is how Russell Wilson went from NC State to Wisconsin for his final year without sitting out a season. All that said, my understanding is Bama is the favorite IF Coker leaves FSU and it is uncertain whether he truly is looking to transfer.

The SEC instituted a new rule a couple years ago...no transfers are allowed into the conference unless they have at least two years of eligibility remaining. Apparently someone didn't like that Ole Miss/Oregon situation (sorry, his name escapes me). I don't know how many years he has left, but I'm guessing if he's graduating that it's just one, making him ineligible for the SEC.

Will Carson stay on roster? Was a two star DD pick out of high school. Has not contributed at all. I just feel it is a wasted scholarship if he never sees the field. We need DL with some speed. Not too much speed at 6'1" 326.

Bowles has talent so he may just be 1 of those kids that has a hard time adjusting to college life and many times a star only breaks our during their Soph, Junior or even their Senior season.

Some people just learn slower than others do but sometimes those slow learners can teach it after it all clicks and become the brightest stars of the class.

I expect some kids to leave simply because they now know they won't get much playing time and they want to go where the competition isn't so tough.

We just have to hope that whoever replaces them can make a fast impact.

This is one that is a possibility and also Tom Smith is another one that is a possibility to transfer. From what I have heard their could be up to 10 transfer.

This is different from Jeremiah Masoli, since Coker is a redshirt SO with two years of eligibility left. He will transfer as a grad student and can play immediately. Coker was head-to-head with Winston going into camp last year, so he would probably jump any QB on our roster right now. That said, Bama seems to believe they have the edge, and with McCarron leaving, he would have immediate PT there.

Could have been Junk Yard Dog's successor RIP

As far as I know (My fiance's family knows Drea well Graduated with her sister/mom is a teacher) he is completely satisfied at UT, he just underwent surgery on the shoulder that he injured this year on special teams. He had a few balls thrown at him in meaningless games but that's about it. He may not play next year due to injury. Hopefully he will get a medical redshirt but we are bringing in alot of talent at WR.

10 transfers won't help anything. UT brings in 30 counters (which is all they area allowed) brings roster to 88. Only need three to leave.. that will be easy. there are about 6 players who are walk-ons that are included in that 88 number so those are available.

How come Kifflin was so shocked when BJ announced it?

Yeah if he's got 2 years available, what I said doesn't apply. I was not aware of his specific situation. It's not common for a player to graduate with two years remaining.

Unless he graduated in three years, which is uncommon but not unheard of. In that case, he would be eligible by virtue of the "Russell Wilson" rule which permits an athlete to transfer and play immediately if he is entering grad school in a program which his undergrad school did not offer.

Gary Danielson said yesterday he believes Malzhan's read option offense and the speed of it is going to change the landscape in the SEC. A QB with legs is essential. Does anybody know about Fergie's wheels?

They always say that and then someone learns how to defend it.

Yeah, graduating in three years is uncommon. Coker went to a private prep school with AJ McCarron, so he's probably smart enough to do it. Seems a long shot that he'll transfer to UT, but CBJ is on a roll. And Bama was late offering him out of h.s., so who knows?

Tom Smith gone, plenty of possibilities kickers, DB, DL, and WR are all positions that some players we have now probably want be here in the spring.

Rumors in recruiting forum are Paul Harris is leaving the team to go back home because his mom is sick. Lines up with Hurd saying he'll wear #1 though. No idea if true. Hate it for the kid if it is.
