Transfers are the new free agents

Don’t see a problem with it at all.

Agreed. Since the school has no contractual obligation to renew each year I don't see why athletes have to sit out a year. IMO if a school refuses to renew a scholarship because the player hasn't performed at the level the coach prefers, they should have go a year without using that scholarship.

Just helps NCAA football get closer to the NFL system, which is afterall...why these young men are playing football in the first place.
Probably should be paying them salaries too. Their worth to the university far exceeds the tuition they don't have to pay while on scholarship.
If you don't think so..calculate the cost of a year of education vs even the average NFL salary.

If you are going to pay them, college players should then go through some sort of draft rather than being recruited.

Yup. And you think that will be alleviated by free agency? Nope. It will excerbate it.
Not following?
The overwhelming majority transfer because for playing time. You think Bama is going to use spots on kids that can't crack the lineup at TN or Arkansas or almost any school?

There will be A FEW but Bama is so loaded, they will lose a lot more than they gain. Saban didn't fight so hard during the Kennedy transfer because he believed a new rule would help him.

A better comparison would be full value of scholarship vs semi pro football, NBA Dream League, and minor league baseball salaries

Lots of QBs and RBs in the transfer market. Would be nice to get the back from Clemson or Cincy and a QB

Wouldn't this be a major gamble on the players part? If you leave your college and scholarship there is no guarantee that you will be picked up. If you are it may be to a smaller college. Then you pray every night you don't get injured.
