Transfer trouble:Anybody see this article?

Interesting...

I'm glad we don't have Jimmy Clausen, however.

Leak I could take or leave.

That article is a display of either the worst recruiting tactic in the history of mankind, or the result of what happens when a higher power decides it may be funny to have the same thing happen 3 times in a row to the same program. As it stands, I will say the only one that really bit us in the behind is Leak considering he went on to win a National Title at a Rival SEC East school. The jury is out on Jimmy and Cordell.

Lol - anyway... Cordell Passley isn't a very good player. He may have been good for Pearl's first class... but he's not up to our standard's unless he's improved a lot since he decommitted.

Why are we linking articles from 8 months ago?

That article is ridiculous. If for nothing else, then it's b/c not only did Jimmy NEVER commit to UT, much less have a "lifetime" commitment to UT, but Casey barely chose UT over ND. To say Jimmy had any thoughts of coming to UT prior to the year 2000 is asanine at best.

People need to give Casey more credit. He did more with less. He also beat Florida twice.
Rick was never supposed to be a starting QB. He came in and did a great job as well with what he had. He didnt have a strong arm but was a smart player. If you were mad that he was in the game, blame Eric Ainge.

So if Rick was stuck at 3rd string and never played, Jimmy would have still committed? Tennessee was probably the only school that allowed Rick to play as much as he did. LSU gave him the one chance and essentially booted him after a bad showing. To award Rick playing time should be gratification from the Clausen family rather than an excuse for Jimmy not coming. They should not forget that Fulmer at the time had 4 other qb's on the team when he asked to come as a transfer walk-on. Is that what you get for being nice?

We need to give credit to Rick for leading that come from behind victory against LSU.

don't forget the win at miami, and the OT heroics to pull one out against the bammers. his 25 yard pass on 4th down in OT is one of the great plays in vol history imo.

i thought that rick's performance in the SECC game against auburn, and in the cotton bowl, were great examples of really playing up to your potential. he just didn't have the great potential that we all like to see at QB.
