Got yet another possibly dumb question. Why are some players instantly eligible to play for their new team (Fields, Martell and Bryant), and others like Soloman and the QB transfer Kasim Hill have, to sit out a year? Thanks

NCAA is incompetent, changes internal rules often, pinheads that don't know what they are doing.

I’m waiting for the response that explains what the NCAA does and why they do it!

I believe he’s a walk-on.

If you graduate, you are eligible to transfer and play immediately.

However, for non graduates, they need a waiver from their former school or they have to sit out.

This could be inaccurate, so feel free to confirm or flame away.

The NCAA rules are so complex (spelled F-ed up) that nobody can understand them. Therefore, they have to figure out a way to say what they want to say and make it sound like it's a rule. That's why so many are sick of the NCAA and are calling for a P5 commissioner.

The NCAA's phone number is 317-917-6222. The NCAA national office is open Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. eastern time.. give them a call.

actually Lofter, we're all still waiting also for those explanations from the NCAA, but here's a NCAA favorite answer...it depends, on a case by case review...:D
