No transfer QB of the caliber you’re talking about is going to want to come be a backup. Even the quarterbacks that are currently backups who decide to transfer will be looking for a place they can play. Nearly impossible to find a transfer QB who is okay with being a backup.

We were beyond lucky to have Joe as a backup in Heupel’s first two seasons. With just a few exceptions, the days of having a backup quarterback who isn’t a mile long drop off from the starter are history.
