Just saying its got to be the importer of record who gets the refund. They were the one who was responsible and paid the tax (just like in my rental analogy earlier). The fact that they might have been able to pass along none, a little, some, most, or all of it doesnt matter...

What amuses me is that he ranted about them being an embarrassment to their country and families just because they followed the law and wouldn’t go along with his illegal scheme. That’s some warped logic right there even for Rump but I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise. He FAFO’d and is the sole embarrassment in this mess. (Well him and the 3 clown justices that went along with the scheme.)

I read I think an AP or Reuters article that pointed out since the start of his second term SCOTUS has ruled in his favor 24 out of 28 times. And they were of course the best SCOTUS ever after those 24 rulings. I cannot wait on the unhinged rant we’re gonna get on the birthright citizenship ruling 😂

Imagine making yourself the leader of the fight to end birthright citizenship when the only person in your family tree born (though not conceived) in this country was the beneficiary of birthright citizenship and when, like you, four of your five children were born to foreign-born mothers.

Oh there are more straight forward examples of his hypocrisy I think but yeah it’s probably not his best case to make.

Full disclosure: I am for doing away with birthright citizenship or at least highly limiting our current wide open birthright citizenship stance. Tourism births in the US shouldn’t be happening for example. However the means to do that are not a decree from the monarch wannabe rather it’s clear there are constitutional statements that need to be modified so it’s gonna take a constitutional amendment

Oh I'm sure the Democrats will impeach him when they take over Congress in January of 27, but they won't have enough votes to actually kick him out of office. But frankly I just don't see him completing his term for one reason or another anyway.

I expect some sort of fiery crash of some nature.

The left told me businesses pass the cost of the tariff on to the customer. By passing on the tariff, then the business made a profit off the sale of goods and now want a refund on top of the sale profit.

Pocahontas wants refunds to go to consumers.

It depends, did the business raise prices to pass on the cost of the tariff to consumers? If so, the consumer ate the cost, not the business.

It depends. Some businesses could pass in large part. Depends on product. Company. Nike and Lulu couldn't pass it own. New Balance could. Wal Mart could pass some of it own, Target couldnt.

Once again, the business took the risk. Kinda how capitalism works. They had to navigate the negative impacts of the violent shocks in their procurement and they get the benefits with those shocks being mitigated.

They had a choice to raise prices and make their usual profit and pass on the tariffs OR eat the tariffs and have less profit per sale, not any profit per sale.
The left said they passed the cost on to consumers. If not, they ate the profit which the left said they were not doing. In the end, IF IF there is any refunds made that is $175 billion being taken away from the taxpayers and given to some...shall I say greedy business owners who most likely do not deserve any refund.

According the left, businesses did pass the tariff on to the consumer....and it didn't cause inflation to skyrocket as the left claimed it would. Why should the business get a refund when they passed the cost on to the consumer?

On the other hand, if the business ate the tariff and did not pass it on, then they may have a legit claim to a refund and the left was wrong about businesses passing the tariff on to the consumer. Either way, the left loses.
