Trade Wars and Tariffs

Last time we just started writing checks to the American people didn't impact inflation at all. Well not when Trump did it. Only when Biden it….at least that's what I'm told
Ill be honest..there are two types of inflation..monetary and supply and demand.
the US gov deficit in 2024 wasalmost $2T, and yet inflation was tempered. What explains that?

I saw equipment price increases during covid before the money was even spent. just about all attributal to supply and demand.

not that I am advocating for the stimulus

I hate that you're being so serious rn
Not trying to be serious. Just typing what comes to mind from education and experience on some of these issues. Honestly and literally, since the last to time I posted, I purchased 4 tickets to Umphrey's McGee for an August 17 show at The Caverns. Also reserved an on-site cabin for that night. I live 40 minutes from the venue. That's my "serious mode". It's remarkably easy and almost an instant reflex to counter the MAGA fools on every issue. Pard, you shouldn't hate anything

Love the Caverns. Saw Oliver Anthony cave show last year. Also got a cabin. Awesome place man.

I've only stayed over there a couple of times because I live so close. It's beautiful in that natural cove. It took COVID for them to recognize they had a perfect, natural ampitheater above the cave in Payne's Cove. I've tried buying the 40 acres across the road to the right from the last stretch across from the venue. No deal for me and I offered a hefty premium to it's assessed value. Don't blame the guy

My question is why so many of you don't hate Trump? Everyday, he puts more and more clown makeup on y'all. When is it enough?

(1) Trump imposes new taxes (tariffs) on stuff we buy that's imported.

(2) We pay that new tax to the government.

(3) Now Trump proposes that the government give us some of that tax money back to us - where it started.

You forgot the step where Trump and his acolytes throw a party about whatever the tariff revenue number is before they give it back to us.

I'm good with a consumption tax. Get rid of the federal income tax and go all in consumption. That'd be great.

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump just announced he’s reached a trade deal with the European Union

This is a HUGE deal. European goods coming into the U.S. will have a 15% tariff.

And the EU will:

✅ Put 0% TARIFFS on US goods
✅ Buy hundreds of BILLIONS in military gear
✅ Make $600 BILLION in U.S. investments
✅ Buy $750 BILLION in U.S. energy

A FANTASTIC deal by President Trump!

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump hits MAJOR HOME RUN with a massive European Union trade deal while in Scotland...victory. 'ZERO TARIFF.' Experts lose again.

"The EU is going to purchase from the US $750 BILLION worth of energy...Agree to invest $600 billion. Agree to open up their countries at zero tariff."

"They are agreeing to purchase a vast amount of military equipment."

"We are agreeing that the tariff straight across for automobiles and everything else will be a straight across tariff of 15%. We have a tariff of 15%, we have the opening up of all of the European countries...$750 billion worth of energy, and $600 billion of investments in the United States over and above what they have."

Mark Penn: "This will not have any real impact on inflation (as about half is paid by the foreign exporter) and as it’s a contractionary tax should lead to lower interest rates if the fed does the math."
