I'm just not seeing it when I look at Marek's numbers. I see a guy who was pretty dominant in A ball, but has been average beyond that. Apparently the Angels thought so too, since they moved him to the bullpen.

He's going to be an average bullpen arm. Useful enough, sure, but not any better than some of the guys they pull off the scrap heap every spring.

A new rumor is Manny to the Marlins, Willingham/Hermida to the Pirates, and Bay to the Sox.

Ouch for me if that happens.

Manny for Hermida/Willingham, Mike Stanton (OF), and Josh Tucker (SP)

or

Manny for Hermida and Jeff Alison.

Call someone up and use Marte/Edwar Ramirez/Jose Veras in different situations. Marte was the set up man in Pittsburgh so we'll do a little by committee approach and see who steps up and produces.

But Hawkins was put through waivers by the Yankees a week ago so this didn't affect their situation at all.
