Florida fumbled at the 2 after an 80 yard run. Florida also fumbled another time after a good run. Both teams had their chances. Florida scored on their last one, that's all.

A lot of people gloss over that play as if it had no bearing on the score. IMO, both of those plays cancel each other out and UF "should" have had 27 points.

Negating that pass against UF doesn't mean we win. It just means the game goes to OT.

If you want to get technical, that wasn't the question. I mean, its a hypothetical situation anyway, might as well change the outcome too. No?

So, if I'm answering the question as is, I stick with my original answer of Yes.

If we're gonna say it only changes that play and we go to OT. Then No.

Fair nuff?

No because it was the last play of the game (regulation)...PERIOD!....same as last year's UGA game.

In the UF game, the score was tied. Had they failed the game would have continued. In the UGA game, UGA was leading.

You can't change the score or scenario. It's pretty cut and dry.

Was just being nice. I already changed it all, score and scenario and I had a threesome with Salma Hyak and Margot Robbie afterwards to celebrate.

No. Because now we don't have to listen about the Hobbnail boot every freaking time we play Georgia. Now there will at least be the Dobbnail boot so they will stfu about it.

In that case, carry on! :)

Yes, because when JJ came down with that ball amongst a pack of mangey dogs I threw my phone in a fit of celebration over the house. After a few laps cheering my face off I retrieved my broken phone. Lol, I'm out a new phone since then.

Damn that was a hell of a game!

It was a 9-route, also known as a go-route or fly pattern. So it wasn't a Hail Mary.

Most of Gator Nation is now referring to it as the "Heave-to-Cleve!" Y'all are welcome to use that as well. 😊

Besides all the comments mentioned. We got a ton of great publicity out of that play. I'll Keep the Georgia win. Plus we all know how McElwain is gonna turn out. It would be better for young high schoolers watch us beat Kirby Smart. We don't want him keeping recruiting momentum. Kids already have proven they aren't buying what McElwain is selling so he is not a great recruiting threat.

Only been to UGA in 2000 and they beat us after like 9 years and my father and I was cussed and didn't even provoke anyone. Very obnoxious fan base. It was funny seeing them in shock. Greatest game I went to even in their sorry ass nose bleed visitor seats and probably one of worst seats in ever sat in was worth it. Also funny UGA was so mad they turned off scoreboard immediately because of the butt hurt.

A Hail Mary is a pass thrown up into a crowd of humanity.

It was not a Hail Mary.

That doesn't change the fact that it was a miracle with .00000001% chance of success
Vs Tennessee anything is possible for UF. Don't know if it is our bad luck or Florida's good luck. I think I will put money on Florida every time we play in Gainesville and every other time in Knoxville.... they always cover.

Are you glossing over the fact that our starting QB did 2 No-Nos and threw an interception in the red zone and threw an interception inside his own 20? Those are plays that fell into Florida's lap. The play where Martin busted his ass down the field to poke the ball was an effort play. Not our fault Florida's player let off the gas. Those 2 interceptions were ill advised and cost us the game. That's a 14 point swing right there because our QB made 2 crucial mistakes that no QB should ever make in a single game.

That wasn't just a fumble. That was one hell of a play by Martin to cause that fumble.

If if it means I don't have to listen to one more fan embarass the entire fan base then yes.

I'll do you one better, would you trade the Georgia Tech win that we didn't deserve for the Florida game we did deserve?

How did we deserve to win?

Yeah, I'd trade it. It was a great, iconic play but it led to nothing other than a singular win last year because of our late season failures vs SCar and Vandy.

So if the long, game-losing pass last Saturday hadn't happened and we had gone on to win in OT, we're halfway to being in the SECe driving seat again and perhaps we wind up making it count this year like we were unable to last year. Jmo.

Thanks. Next time I've got a stomach bug and am waiting for the inevitable, heave to cleave will come in handy

Timmy Tebow just called it a Hail Mary on SEC channel.

I hate losing to Florida but I wouldn't trade sitting with my Dad and both of us saying it's over but knowing there was a chance Berry could take the kick back. He didn't take it back of course. We agreed it was over. Dobbs won't make that pass and Georgia is going to swarm the end zone.

My sister then walked by and asked the score then went outside. We ignored her because she is a Bama fan. With the storm door closing she tells my mom "There are some sad lookng UT fans in this house." My mom peeks through the glass and sighs looking like she is somehow feeling our sorrow. My dad shakes his head while looking down before looking back up at TV.

Dobbs drops back and has some time. The ball goes into the air and my Dad says it's long enough. Then it happened. Immediately we were yelling, high-fiving, and clapping. My mom and all the kids and adults came in asking what happened. All we could do was point at the TV and say " OMG, watch this, OMG, we won!" Every house around their house with a UT fan in it could be heard cheering for the next 5 minutes.

I wouldn't trade that memory for a win this year even over the gators. Now if circumstances were different and I was at home in SC for the GA game, I might say yes.
