Tourney hopes

Not if we keep losing players!:lolabove::cray:

By the way, anyone know the status of McGee? Is it absolutely without a doubt that he is not returning this year?

NO! He is in limbo. Here's the deal (IMO)...Coach is not going to announce just yet if he is Red Shirted. I believe he is waiting to see if our team will get into the Tourney. No need for Jabari to come back with 8-10 games left on the schedule and we have no hopes of going to the tourney.

If he is coming back it will probably be mid to late February. Now remember...that's jmo.

 Whew! Y'all know I want to go to the NCAA Tourney. Jabari won't even entertain any talk about the NIT. I can't even mention that acronym to him.

Don't let SD hear that. Jabari knows where it's at.

It would be great to have him available if we make it. It's a tough decision for he and the staff to make if it comes to it.

AuntieDee, my point all along has never been not to get into the NCAA tourney. My point is that the NIT is not a trash tournament as some would have you believe. More likely than not that is where we will end up this year. Winning that tournament would be a big feather in Tennessee's basketball cap since they have never won a national men's tournament yet the women have won 8 national championships. in last years final RPI, these teams in the NIT had the RPI's following their name. Southern Miss-32, Toledo-38, Missouri-47, Minnesota-50, Fla State-52, SMU-53, Belmont-58, La Tech-59, St Mary's-60, California-61, Iona-64, St John's-65, Georgetown-66, Illinois-67, and Arkansas-68. None of them made the NCAA tournament! South Carolina, tonights foe, has 2 NIT championship banners hanging from their rafters. Ask them how proud they are of them!

Programs like South Carolina can celebrate that. We're a little above that.

According to the computers, there's a 37% chance we pick up another road win and 28% chance we pick up 2.

Another one will be key if we want to make the dance.

The most likely one will come against Vandy - and knowing what a ****ty place that is to play in, and the fact that Vandy is playing other teams tough - it's going to be tough to win against them let alone the other road opponents. I know I'm stating the obvious, but it makes every home game a must win (minus UK).

TN's philosophy to force the threes and Vanderbilt's philosophy to exploit the threes doesn't set up well for TN.

What rating are you getting this from? If you use the Sagarin ratings, the odds of us losing all our remaining road games is only 20.4 percent.

SD...I understand that. Like I said I would love to go to the NCAA, but if by some small chance we don't make it I'd gladly take the NIT. I'd much rather keep playing with a possibility of some type of tourney than the reality of stopping at the end of the regular season.

Basically TN is on the bubble for the next 6 weeks or so and they must stay ahead of the others. Could get in with 18 wins or could be NIT bound with 21 wins.
