So does the tournament split, loss to FSU and win against ranked VCU drop us in next weeks rankings? Or could we possibly move up considering the quality loss and win against a ranked team

Only Florida has dropped 9 spots or more this season after their first loss........and Florida was 1-1 at the time.

Tennessee is 6-1, lost a close game to a team who will be ranked, then beat a ranked team.

Tennessee will definitely still be ranked......somewhere around 20.

I noticed that Gary Parrish dropped the Vols to 19th from 18th after the loss to FSU, but before the win against VCU. I suspect the same in the AP and coaches polls. One thing for certain: we are going to be passed by Michigan. Parrish moved them to 5th from unranked. By the way, their next game is at Louisville.

I'd say #19, roughly the same. Obviously we lost to FSU, who will probably climb in. Michigan will definitely be ranked highly, but you can't drop everyone.

#6 UNC lost to unranked Michigan
#8 Zags lost to unranked Michigan
#11 Oregon lost to #8 Gonzaga and #6 UNC
#12 TTech lost twice to unranked
#15 Utah State lost to unranked
#20 VCU lost twice (once to us).
#22 Nova lost to #24 Baylor

I say we will drop 2-3 spots, more about teams emerging in a weekend with a lot of tourneys/classics.

I don't think we really get viewed as any worse though.

I don't care where, I just want to stay ranked. There's a huge difference in media coverage of ranked versus unranked teams.

I agree, about the rankings.

However Tennessee could get a lot more exposure if Turner is hitting a last second 3 to win the game on national TV......rather than on a live stream on someone’s YouTube account.
