Toughest UT records to break

Which of these, if any, do you think will be the next UT record to be broken?

There is a few I could see being brokem in the Heupel era.

Tennessee football’s 10 toughest records to break
Obviously number 1 is correct. No school will ever break that record. The 33-game unbeaten streak should be second though. That just won’t happen in today’s game. There are no ties so it would have to be a 34-game win streak and that’s only happened 7 times in the history of the game. Ohio State was the last to do it in 2000-2002 but they didn’t play in the SEC and offenses are way better now. Before then it was Toledo back in the late 60s.

Many of those records have remained intact for quite some time. I believe Kent’s receiving record may be the likeliest to be broken while Heupel is coach. Still a tall order for sure.

Yeah, the passing/receiving records are most likely to go down due to the evolution of the passing game.

The consecutive shutouts will stand forever.

Jackie Walker's 5 career ints returned for TDs and John Caldwell's 107 yard fumble return for a TD in 1905.

I agree with your three picks. I disagree with you on which is the hardest to break order. Not your no. one, but your two and three. I would reverse these two.

Eh? What is my number 3? I just said 2. What do you have at 2?

With the way offense is now, it's about guaranteed. But honestly, it isn't even that much

I think at least one of these "unbreakable records" is ripe to be picked off by the Josh Heupel scoring machine: Eric Ainge's 7 TD passes in a game (vs KY, 2007).

I mean, didn't we come close to that even in a loss, versus Purdue at the end of the year? Hooker threw 5 TD passes. In a loss.

Our offense is just going to keep getting stronger. Yes, I could see this one falling in the next few years.

p.s. I've given young Caleb Calhoun (the author of the OP-linked article) plenty of grief for his poor writing skills, lack of research, and negative attitude. So it is only fair I salute him when he turns at least two of those around. Attaboy, Caleb!

In my mind the 33 game win streak or the 15 game shutout streak are by far the most improbable in the modern era.

If Heup continues to progress and sticks around for a few years I really think any of the individual ones are winthin reach….even the defensive records given how many possessions they’ll get

The Ainge 7 TDS vs Kentucky needs a * to show it was 4 qtrs plus a few overtimes.

Clausen was 6 yds away from 7 TDs vs Michigan
