Toughest 2nd round UT or UNC

Yes, it is a good question... I know that Butler is tough, and I know that no matter what, this is going to be a tough game for you guys. I don't know that about Arkansas, so if they're tougher than we are, then UNC is in for a difficult game. That's why.
guess I'm slow. I still don't get it.

sorry man, I can't help you any more.

Are you saying that, as a Butler fan, you hope Arky is better than Butler? Are you more of an anti-UNC fan than you are a Butler fan?

Try to respond without pronouns and that might help, because at this brief moment Butler's status has temporarily been elevated to a level of significance on this board that it may never experience again. You are 'the others' in Lost terminology.

I think its obvious now that Butler is a harder game....especially since UNC is beating arky by 26 points right now

UNC is beating the same team who beat UT in the SEC tourney. The Vols will have to play a lot better than they did against Butler to beat the Heels (if that game eventually happens).

The Heels are playing with far more intensity than they did in the ACC tournament. Ty Lawson is healthy--and the entire UNC team is playing extremely well. I don't think it's based on inconsistent play from Arkansas.

I would rather be playing Butler than Arkansas right now. I think Arkansas is going to be one of UNC's toughest games. They matchup pretty good with UNC. If Weems plays well they could upset the heels.

:eek:lol:

Arkansas started out in a 9-0 hole and never made a game of it. It wasn't inconsistent play....heck it was totally consistent---> consistently putrid!

So are you saying that UNC is 30 points better than UT? Remember, UT beat Arkansas soooo easily the 1st time.

No, they are playing the crappy team that lost the game after beating UT. You know, the team that got hosed in Knoxville and could have easily lost by 30 if Bruce didn't pull our starters. Raleigh and Charlotte are UNC home games. They have the "home" announcers too.

If you can convince yourself that the Heels are fake after the first two rounds, I'm not sure what part of the game you were watching. They pulled their starters against Arky with 5 minutes left in the game as well. Every player on the UNC squad has scored during the tournament.

I think the Vols match up better against UNC than did Arky--and that UT has a better team than did Arky. UNC's next game is against WSU and UT plays Louisville. Both teams have to win before an on the floor comparison can be made. But if UNC plays the way they did this weekend, there isn't a team in college basketball this year who can beat them--and the margin of victory does not matter. It's only W or L. UT advances with an OT win the same way UNC advances after winning by 30. No difference.

As UNC playing at 'home,' (it's not the Smith Center) that's based on the fact they won both their regular season conference and tournament championships. Had UT won out after Memphis, the Heels would have been in a different region. But that's not what happened. In any case, the Tar Heels are undefeated on the road this season with their only two losses being on their home court. So, I suspect you're not arguing that the Heels don't travel well.

UT/UNC would be an exciting game--especially if UT runs against them. The Heels are a lot better now than they were the last part of the season (while Ty Lawson was out). UNC has a lot of talented players who are playing well and playing with intensity.

UNC could not have played like that against, 'ville, KU, UCLA, Memphis. TN and TX would have scored much better. Pathetic Arky play definitely made UNC look much better than they are. Lawson still wasn't explosive. Until he is, they will struggle against other very athletic teams.

I never said that. They deserve the #1 overall seed. I still think we can beat them though. And Butler is tougher than Arkansas.

Edit: Concerning the UNC home game comment... I was referring to the fact that Arkansas was a terrible road team this year. And the game is a neutral court in North Carolina... It was definitely biased to the Tar Heels. By a large margin.

The margin of victory would have been smaller against all of those teams, but the Heels would have won.

Concerning Lawson, are you serious? He drove the floor and exploded to the hoop several times. He looks solid and healthy to me.

UT will have to play better and UNC will have to play worse, but sure UT could win if both things happened.

UNC, Lousville, Kansas, UCLA, UT, TX, and then Memphis would be how I'd order these teams.

UCLA and Kansas are shoe-ins for the final four at this stage. Texas beats Memphis. The other three fight it out for the East. The East winner wins it all.

Definitely. We had a vastly superior Ohio State team on the ropes last year though. And we beat Memphis at Memphis. I have a feeling this team is craving another game with the feel of the Memphis game. Louisville first though. I'm ready for us to make some history with an Elite 8. :)

UT needs to play like they did against Memphis the rest of the way. That's 4 tough games, but if they can do, the NC awaits.

The East is tough!

Nobody is a shoe-in this year. UCLA should have lost already. Texas will have a tough time getting to Memphis. This has been a great tournament so far. Very exciting, unpredictable games.

I think the UCLA game was a wake up call for them. I still see them going on to San Antonio.

It's a great tournament. I just think a couple of teams beat some overrated seeds to get where they are. I expect that to show next weekend, but I could easily be wrong.

It is an exciting tournament this year!:)

Once again we have a hater. Lawson is only averaging 20pts 6ass and not turnovers so far in the tournament. He's back. If you dont think so ask the experts. Rivals has him as the number one point guard in the power rankings during the tournament play.

you might consider the competition and the style of those games. There are at a very minimum two point guards I would take over Lawson for this tourney.

The question for UCLA is not how many wake-up calls they are going to have, the question is how many CALLS they are going to get from the refs to continue winning. Over the last 3 weeks they have been the recipients of some of the most biased officiating this season.
