Everyone has complained about our draw, but it looks like UNC will have a tough opponent also in Arky. Which will be the tougher opponent, Butler or Ark?

probably Butler because of their shooting. Arkansas is probably the better team over the course of many games, but Butler has the ability to just dominate a "game" with their shooting.

Uh, Ark isn't all that but neither is Buter. I say they are about even and no one is going to have it tougher

toughness is about the matchups. Both present matchup problems for their foes. UNC is not accustomed to teams larger than they are and we don't like good opposing guards.

Agreed, but at the same time Arkansas is playing very very good basketball right now. I still think UT has the tougher draw IMO.

Butler is a top 10 team....Arkansas is not even ranked. Don't know if that means much, but oh well
it's about the matchups. Arky has the size to negate the typical interior advantage that UNC enjoys. Additionally, Weems is en fuego and Ginyard isn't big enough to deal with him. Arky's guard play is unpredictable as can be, but they are just a tough matchup for UNC.

Butler, via its style, is a tough matchup for us, but the individual player matchups don't jump out at me as difficult.

I think the Vols have the toughest 2nd round draw in the East. While Arky can be explosive, they are awfully inconsistent.

Overall, Memphis definitely has the toughest 2nd round opponent for a top (1 or 2) seed.

Agree with all except... WVU has already beaten Duke (2 seed). That's as tough of an outcome as the tournament can deliver. UNC, UT, and Memphis will all win their 2nd round games.

"Everybody wants to make a statement, but it means nothing," junior Danny Green said. "It's one game, because the next game, you never know. You could lose or it could be a one- or two-point game. The whole key is to survive and move on."

Of what's left to contend with the 1 and 2 seeds, I think Arky is the best team. But in addition to UCLA, UNC looks like the team to beat (based on one round... but it was a good one) and they will exploit Arky's inconsistency.

It's the end of the road for the Hogs tomorrow.

Only if the bad inconsistent side show up. What if the good Arky arrives?

I would rather be playing Butler than Arkansas right now. I think Arkansas is going to be one of UNC's toughest games. They matchup pretty good with UNC. If Weems plays well they could upset the heels.

they will also need Ervin, to not turn it over, and Hill to slow Tyler down

As a Butler fan, I think we can find some common ground in the fact that we're both hoping that UNC has the tougher opponent today. If Arkansas pulls out the win, that would be huge.

Arkansas has been crazy consistent. Since we lost to them a week ago I say we have the better edge right now. At least we've yet to lose to Butler this year even if they do play a slow slow slow style that will hurt us

Considering two 30 win teams have NEVER met in the 2nd round, Im gonna go with the Vols

Yeah, I agree. The Tennessean mentions that, also.

<<<A bunch of wins: When UT (30-4) meets Butler (30-3) today, it will be the first time in NCAA Tournament history that two 30-win teams face off in a second-round game.

The early-round matchup has raised eyebrows, and some have said it is unfair for both teams to be facing such talented programs this soon.>>>

why woul you want Arky to be tougher for UNC than Butler is for UT?

Yes, it is a good question... I know that Butler is tough, and I know that no matter what, this is going to be a tough game for you guys. I don't know that about Arkansas, so if they're tougher than we are, then UNC is in for a difficult game. That's why.
