tough being a vol fan...

Today my 7 year old son says he doesn't want to be a vol fan any more. He said we lose ever time we play an important game and the radio and TV make fun of us. I just laughed. I've been a fan for so long it's hard to conceive not being a fan. I could never root for another team bit I do feel that more and more I'm just losing interest. We're just cursed or something. We finally get a coach that works hard, represents the program well, and recruits great. And yet...Hes a terrible game manager Imo. Just no awareness of momentum (kicking the ball on 4th and 1*deep in our opponents territory. Not understanding what a conversion does for energy and confidence. And not understanding who few scoring opportunities we'll have and maximizing them. And being content to hold a 1 point lead. Not continuing to keep the pedal on the gas out of fear I guess (same reason we never go for it on fourth). Some guys have it and some don't. Butch doesn't have it when it comes to managing a game.

No offense, but you have raised a participation award style quitter. Get him a WOW account, and hope he doesn't live with you till he is 40.

:cray: I doubt very seriously your 7 year old felt that way without listening to Dad cry, whine and moan the entire game! Please find another team with the proper amount of game management by the coach.

I personally saw a lot to be very optimistic about! The team fought to the end and Dobs REALLY showed me something tonight. You do realize we ran for triple what the average Bama has given up on defense this year.

Why is it that so many people who are "losing interest" in a team or sport feel the need to announce it to the world?

Some of us VOL fans do... We take 10 time the crap fans that live in Tennessee do... Anybody that wants to say its hard being a vol fan come walk a day in some of our orange shoes still repping the vols!!!!!
