TOS has thread asking where Kirkland is.

I thought Tuttle was the obligatory talented yet always less than full speed or completely unavailable Vol in this group. We always have one. Most teams do.

Pre injury I’d argue Shy was the best player the Vols had

Talented by gave half: Kongbo and McKenzie

McKenzie wished he played like Tuttle.. Tuttle actually makes plays

That’s exactly what I meant.

We blame others for the faults of players way to often. Sure coaching goes a long way but they can’t desire and the effort it takes to be great. Mackenzie never showed that and coasted last season.

Is he not still rehabbing? Knee injuries can take 11+ months sometime? (* Yes, Im aware of new technology and 5 month recovery times, but Im also aware that 11-15 months as well)

Sounds right and he's better off there than at risk on the practice field.

believe there's a few of us been asking the same question...had high hopes for KMac too but...eventually we'll know...:)

PS. hope KMac's career turns out better in the NFL...

GO VOLS!

Except that KMac actually made a lot more plays than Tuttle. Not really even close. Stats are available on UT's web site, if you are skeptical.

Tuttle has been slowed by injuries since the cheap shot by the GA lineman 2 years ago. KMac played many more minutes & greatly underachieved. :ermm:

I ask myself if I were a senior or jr class d lineman with potential NFL skills, had had a history with knee injury, would I protect myself and my future by not giving all I had to the college that gave me the opportunity to begin with? Not to mention your brothers in the trenches all around you wearing orange? It really comes down to personal values, do I value team goals or do I value me goals? On one hand as a fan you'd like players to sell out give all they got for team wins...then again can you blame a guy for protecting his potential involving a ton of money?

If Koblinaw or whatever the heck his name is broke one finger and toe a week for the rest of his life it wouldn't hurt my feelings any. Easily one of the cheapest and most damaging shots I've seen as a fan.

When Tuttle was healthy, he was easily our best interior D Lineman.

They played in the same number of games as sophomores, and within 1 game as juniors. KMac made more plays. That is verifiable fact. Both suffered season ending injuries, and KMac was hindered by not playing as a senior. The Tuttle was better argument is a subjective narrative based on belief that as consensus #2 DT in nation KMac underachieved whereas Tuttle as #9 DT (top 100) in the nation was Warren Sapp incarnate. The narrative is false.
