Looks like Hamilton Place YMCA is opening as a shelter for displaced people/families. Hamilton Place Lowes is a meeting place for affected families.

What are things like this morning? Was watching that closely. Looked like a pretty serious tornado sprouted up not for from your office and then ripped north.

We had one apparently, allegedly touched down about5 miles from our house. Lots of people posting pictures of damage on Facebook, but nobody injured. I slept through the sirens.

Ooltewah here. No power but no damage at our place. Very blessed. Finding pieces of vinyl siding and styrofoam insulation on our property. No telling where from.
East Brainerd hard hit. They are saying more than 150 places seriously damaged, some destroyed.

Also upstate SC. Had a death near Clemson. Clemson/Seneca area got ate up. We're further east... in Greer. We were in the downstairs bathroom at 4am this morning...me, the wife, and the 4 kiddos... bicycle helmets on. Heck of a storm(s). Unfortunately...or fortunately... those TN tornadoes had everyone step up their nighttime tornado game.

My parents were less than a block from getting hit in mountain shadows. They are without power. But starting at the house at the other end of the street got damaged with it getting worse north from there. I know a lot of people that had to been effected worse than some fallen trees. Crazy seeing houses you know get destroyed.

Igou Gap near Hamilton Place Mall. Lots of damage even in the business district. Brand new East Brainerd Elementary School heavily damaged.
The new high school on Ootlewah ringgold road was hit too, along with Grace Academy on Shallowford.

Rough night around here in SE TN. Tornado plowed through less than a mile from my house and a only couple blocks from my youngest daughter. She got a lot of heavy hail as it passed by so we know it was way to close for comfort.

I’ve always said I’d take a hurricane over a tornado every day and twice on Sunday and that’s after riding out 3 canes in 3 states. That opinion just got strongly reinforced again last night.

🙏 & 💔 for those that got hit and thankful that we got lucky.
