Top247 quarterback Quinten Dormady commits to Tennessee Vols

Quinten Dormady spent most of last week visiting Tennessee and Alabama after recently receiving offers from both schools, and he returned home Sunday to weigh his options in hopes of deciding on a college soon.

Top247 quarterback Quinten Dormady of Boerne (Texas) High School announced his commitment to Tennessee on Monday night.

It didn’t take him long to make up his mind.

The Top247 rising senior quarterback from Boerne (Texas) High School announced Monday night on his Twitter account that he has committed to Tennessee, choosing the Vols over the rival Crimson Tide just two days after his latest visit to Tennessee.

Dormady gave the Vols their 12th known commitment for the 2015 class and their first from a quarterback, addressing one of their most glaring needs after they failed to sign a quarterback in the 2014 class.

"I have committed to the University of Tennessee!" he tweeted. "This is a blessing and a dream come true!"

:good!:

Butch seems to be catching everyone off guard with how good of a recruiter he is.

No doubt CBJ decided that a sure thing in Dormady was more important than continuing to woo Gibson and get left at the altar late in the year. Now we can really start building ANOTHER awesome recruiting class for 2015!

Question: Why do we seem to often offer and get injured recruits or those that have suffered an injury requiring surgery or long recovery?

Statement: I'm glad we took one away from LK who was the one who recruited him for Bama. not so much out of spite than that LK for all his faults, is darn good at recognizing pro style QB talent.

Sounds great but he's not a duel threat. I'm a little confused as to what type of offense Butch envisions. Maybe he just wants the best players we can get and will try to adapt the system to fit their skills. The problem with that strategy is all the offensive players are impacted by qb. We should recruit different types of lineman based on whether the qb is pro or duel threat.

I'm glad he's not a duel threat, we don't need another player in legal trouble.

Our WRs should answer your question. We need a QB who can get them the ball...and run only 4-5 times a game to keep Def. honest.
