It would be quite funny to see a UT defensive player win it. He has another season like last year and he should be in the discussion at least

It's not a stretch to say that Berry is better at his position than his competitors by a wider margin than anyone else in the country is at theirs.

06 Had a great to season considering Ainge got hurt
05 sucked lack of discipline
04 went to sec champ game with 2 freshman qb's
03 decent
02 decent
01 should of went to play miami for the NC but Chavis couldn't stop Matt Mauk from running up the middle every other play against LSU.

If tennessee would just hire keith jackson to run berry's hypesman campaign like he did woodson's, he'd be a shoe in. Whoa nelly! i sure am smelly.

Sports media only follows the most recent season/events as does the memory of the poll voters that only remember last week's game.

Simply to ESPN, you really are only as good as your last season

This is hard to type, but just a thought.

Berry may be more popular on a national scale than was Peyton entering his senior season. Berry's only a junior and the world of college football loves him. He has extraordinary star power.

I'd like to see Kiffin give him a role on special teams or offensive plays. His HS QB tape is exciting to watch. It's not an NFL-style offense, but when EB has the ball in his hands, it's just exciting. It would be fun to watch a Berry-Oku/Hardesty-Brown option play with Nuke on a quick slant route.

And before anyone says it.. no I didn't want Leach, but a circus while transitioning to a real offense would be more fun than the no offense we saw last fall.
