We should call Michigan's coach with everything they have going on.

Upon further review he hasn't coached at michigan since 2023. This list was created 2 years ago.

If we roll back the clock 2 years, next year 2024 we’ll have a pretty good defense. Can someone explain this if we’re so deficient in strength and conditioning?

A 45 lb weight weighs the same in Tennessee as it does in Georgia. However the 37 spot difference lies in upholding standards and expectations, and accountability. I do not like whatever Huepel's philosophy is in regards to team physicality and toughness. I hate using the term, but "finese" is the only thing I can think of. I just think Huepel's teams are kind of soft <shrugs>. We do not bully teams like I think an SEC team should. I want blue collar, 1970's Steelers/Raiders intimidation, not Dallas Cowboy pretty boy football!
At Alabama it's 50lbs. They round up just let me they do on their NC counts.

If you remember what our guys looked like bouncing around shirtless in Columbus last year... its obvious we need an upgrade fo sho. Somebody needs to post that weight room pic from '97! Let your eyes decide.

These rankings are a complete joke. No one has a valid way to measure the effectiveness of college strength coaches

We did not run wide sets very often this year.
And our RB production went down as a result. It wasnt bad, but it did take a dip compared to the years prior. Of course losing Sampson and having no one comparable played a role as well.

Also, I think the book on Huepel's offense now among d-coordinators is bend/dont break, keep everything in front of you, and dont give up the long pass. Defenses are willing to concede letting us chew up yardage on the ground, along with intermediate passes and counting on us making mistakes, since we are a very undisciplined team.

I will play along here. **Probably worth sending to Heupel** From the age of 5 to about 17, I saw USC west have 1 great season I was proud of. Rose Bowl win vs Northwestern. Was there. We fired that coach soon after. Fired Paul Hackett in a few after. We hired Pete Caroll after... I can still remember telling me "Hey son, we got this great strength and conditioning coach from University of Tennessee and he is big time. His name is Chris Carlisle." I was at the game when Pete Caroll lost against Utah 0 to 6 in Vegas on Christmas day. But then at 3 rose bowls in about 5 years after which included an NC win vs Michigan(split with LSU that year). USC won a BCS game vs Iowa and a national championship vs Oklahoma also with games that I didn't go to. Moral of the story, hire the best freaking strength and condition coach at UT that money can buy!! 37th on the list is a joke! No wonder we are getting pushed around! Was born a Trojan, will die a Vol. Best college sports University in the world and been a fan since 96.
