Top recruiting need for CCM next year?

I'm a little concerned that Michigan may highlight our overall lack of 3-point shooting threat. Since I'm not up to date on the strengths/weaknesses of our recruiting class, do you consider a 3-point shooter to be our top need for next year? If not, what is?

It is always nice to have 3 point shooters. Lofton & Prince were nice 3 point shooters and help us win many games in the past. So, a 3 point shooter is good to have at the end of a close game. A couple of 3 pointers at the end of a close game to seal the victory is always good.

I don't really remember Prince being a great 3 point shooter? He was more of a guy who drove the lane and scored at the basket or short range jumper.

Hubbs with a healed shoulder could be one of the 3 point shooters. Richardson is showing he can make them, but we need a couple of post players more than anything.

You're right. He was a bad shooter, great slasher and driver. He may be thinking of Juaun Smith. (Not sure if I spelled his first name right)

JP Prince was an awful 3 point shooter lol.

But uh, yeah we need real post players or real spot up shooters. No more hybrid projects please

Yep...I think he was confused. Prince was always the guy that "FOULED" 3 pt shooters. He wasn't one himself other than the occasional here or there.

Richardson has proven to be an adequate shooter, if Hubbs is healthy he will be as well. I think there are other areas of need more important, as this year has proven you don't have to have a Chris Lofton to win.

I prefer a strong inside game, more has to go right for you to win being a 3 point shooting team, especially in the tournament. If you have a cold night, you'll be gone. It's much less likely for a Stokes/Maymon type to have a cold game, they're shooting close in so often. Also, with the new foul rules, players that can get to the rim and make free throws are invaluable. That showed up strong against Mercer. If you think back, it's the main reason we lost to Ohio State in the sweet 16. They took it to the rim constantly in the second half and shot a million free throws.

So to me, hope like heck there's a good post-graduate transfer available and that he wants to come here. Even if Stokes stays. But if he leaves, we'll need it for sure. I don't think Cofer is strong enough to play in the post in the SEC right now and I don't think Turman is polished enough to either. We know Pops isn't likely to have much of an impact. I'm hoping to avoid having Armani Moore as an undersized power forward next year.

Yeah that's what I was going to say. Jajuan smith wasn't quite the 3pt shooter Lofton was, but he was still very good. That's probably who he meant. Or maybe Chism, he jacked up those 3's pretty nicely for a big guy.

Yeah I agree, we need just 1 or 2 guys who can just shoot 3's lights out and pass the ball efficiently and play alright defense. We haven't had one of those in a while. Hopefully our SG recruit from this year (can't think of the name right now) or Hubbs as a sophomore can fill that role. That would be a huge.

But imagine if we had Chris Lofton. Damn we would be nearly impossible to beat. Lofton, Richardon, McRae, Stokes and Maymon. Sounds pretty good to me!
