They list coaching jobs by conference.

SEC
1.Florida
2.LSU
3.Alabama
4.AUG
5.Auburn
6.Tennessee

They go further down the list, but this shows you where our rank is.

I am a Dooley supporter, but if CDD is unable to perform to a standard this next season. We should be able to get a decent coach according to this.

While the Vols have struggled with consistency on the field lately, this is still an attractive job. Nearly $50 million was spent to build a brand-new football complex, Neyland Stadium has been spruced up over the years and the program does have a rich tradition. Though with the state not being so talent-rich, coaches are forced to target other areas in the Southeast to recruit.

I agree, and if UGA didn't have all of those recruits in their back yard, I think we are ahead of them as well.

that's why I didn't include them also, but at the same time we recruit the hell out of Georgia.. We got better tradition IMO!

As a native Tennessean , the number one team for me is always Tennessee. Again, rankings are nothing but someone's or some group's opinion ! :hi:

If you include recruiting grounds, tradition, facilities, fan pressure, and commitment to the program I'd go...

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. LSU
5. Tennessee
6. Aurburn
7. A & M
8. Arkansas
9. South Carolina
10. Missou
11. Ole Miss
12. Miss St.
13. Kentucky
14. Vandy

8-10 can be swapped out.
10-14 who gives a shiz

I would say we are actually no less than 3rd place on this list realistically. I'm not talking about current state, but over all history, expectations, facilities, etc. Actually we are no less than 2nd in our conference....

Bama has all those things in spades, then Florida, LSU and Georgia are all the kingpins in extremely talent-laden states. Fifth is reasonable.

In 2008 & 2010, didn't we try a whole laundry list of coach's but none even took a sniff?

Butch Davis, Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Brian Kelly, coach at Air Force, T.C.U. coach, Boise State coach, Florida's current coach.

Answer me honestly, if you were a top notch coach in the NCAA, would you want to work for Hamilton????

Maybe people see our program as solid but they all showed no interest because of Hamilton. Just a theory.

I think the only things a coach *really* pays attention to are...

1. How much pressure there is to deliver immediate results
2. How good is the roster that will be left over, i.e. do I have close to what I need to work with to get those wins

In our case, the pressure to win was high and the caliber of the remaining roster was low.

No decent coach in the country thought they could clean up the mess that Fulmer and Kiffin left. That is the reason that we had to find a Sunbelt Conference coach. It was only 3 weeks to signing day when Kiffin left.

You have posters falling all over themselves about 8 wins this season. You had an Athletic Department give a coach an extension after every 8 win season. The pressure to win isn't that high here.

You can't be embarrassed by your rivals, have your team quit or the majority of your coaching staff leave and not expect to feel pressure
