Can someone please explain the fascination with the Beatles and Bob Dylan? Especially Bob Dylan. I bought a Dylan album once and it was an absolute abomination to all things music.

Influence on artists from the 1960s til now.

I (among others) also enjoy the music, of course that's just a matter of opinion.

I don't have anything against the '60s musically. Just those artists. There is plenty of music I enjoy from that time.

There's a lot of Bob to listen to. He made a few records I can't stand, but just about all his old stuff was great, imo.

They both helped change and influence music, they are some of the all time greats.

Although I don't like the Beatles, I understand why someone else would. But I can't understand the Bob Dylan thing. A retarded monkey could make Dylans music with an electronic keyboard that offers the demo function.

He was a folk singer, dude. It's his writing.

Yeah, and that argument so happens to be retarded as well. He's not Jeff Beck. He's Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan is a singer/songwriter. He is not a virtuoso musician, and he doesn't claim to be.

Yeah. He's the greatest songwriter of all time, IMO. Even when Dylan went electric it was still all about the writing. I don't mind unpolished vocals when it comes to rock....Neil Young, Modest Mouse, Weezer, etc.

I'd have to agree in general that the last 1 or 2 Beatles and Dylan albums that made the list are probably crowding out some seminal work from artists that didn't make the list.
