Hyatt is going to have to put on some weight before he is impact guy. I saw him in person and he is very thin. Wideman is most ready IMO of receivers coming in.
Tyler Baron seems most physically ready along with Lawrence.
Bailey can for sure take over the QB spot if JG has to be benched as much as last season.
The top two WRs in the draft are both little guys... Jerry Jeudy and Cee Dee Lamb.I keep hearing comments about the kids weight.
Look at DeSeasn Jackson. Functional strength, quickness and outright speed are very difficult to defend off the line of scrimmage.
Absolutely he needs to get stronger, but once he's past you...you can bench 500 and your'e not going to be able to touch him
What's really refreshing is not talking about an OL or highly rated DL (Thomas, D Bailey) needing to come in and have an impact. Been a while since we haven't needed one or the other
You may be right. I'd recommend that you set Coaches Pruitt and Chaney straight as to their dubious feelings that this fella' could contribute right from the get-go. Let's get some fried chicken and cornbread in this skinny li'l boy! Yes?They also had Dee Beckwith at 220 and he weighs in at 235 these days. You can look at Wideman and tell that he's not 200 lbs. Also, how strong is he? CBs in the SEC are strong and physical and it's not uncommon for Fr WRs to struggle early against them. I just feel that he will not find the field early as a Fr because of his size and strength. I think he potentially could be great I just don't believe it'll be his Fr season. He's built similar to Josh Malone who had 23 receptions his Fr year, I just don't see that many touches for Wideman this upcoming season.
He will not redshirt if our plans our to use his skill set to win games this year. We can use him at wildcat use him in reverse throw back jet action. He is a playmaker we don't have. If he redshirts that means they believe he can play QB full timeHoliday will RS this season I feel. I don't see us having a package of plays for him at QB this year, he's not close to being ready and we've got plenty of guys fighting for snaps at QB.
So your take is that even though we have half a dozen QBs on the roster we are going to gameplan for a young 3* QB simply because he is really fast? I'm curious as to how many touches a game you feel young Holiday is going to get?He will not redshirt if our plans our to use his skill set to win games this year. You’re acting like he’s built like Brian Mauer. He may not be 200 but I’m not so sure that he isn’t. He doesn’t look thick but he’s 6-4. If he looked thick he’d be 220. The pictures I’ve seen he looks to have some muscle. You can look at Wideman and tell that he's not 200 lbs. Also, how strong is he? Didnt we redshirt two 4star TEs last season?
A friend of mine attended the UT pep rally here in Memphis yesterday.Sean brown and Jackson Lowe
If anyone starts first game it would be Lawrence. I believe Holiday plays more snaps than Bailey early because he will first game have his own package especially in Orange zone. To explosive with the ball in his hands not to.
Again, coming from my friend. Said they didn't really talk about QB's much but Chaney got excited comparing Holiday to Jauan Jennings, not a toughness comparison, but in that 'he sticks out as a playmaker' or just has the 'it' factor. Said they've got to design packages and figure out ways to let him make plays.Holiday will RS this season I feel. Holiday is to good of a runner he moves laterally as fast as forward to me when I see Athletes he is 5 star talent. I love the idea of teams having to gameplan around both he and Bailey Chaney will have fun drawing up plays.A friend of mine attended the UT pep rally here in Memphis yesterday.
Said Chaney raved about Princeton Fant as most likely to step up and become a playmaker out of our TE's.

Sounds to me like they're hoping he's ready. I could see him being option 1A running the wildcat and having a few jet sweep/wr pass plays.
I think he has all the tools to be a really good player I just think he'll struggle early against the physical DBs in the SEC. It's not uncommon for a Fr to come into the SEC and not be ready to play physically, especially at the WR position. We have had several Fr play the last few years but I believe that they played out of necessity. I think our roster is better now, our S&C is better now and it's going to get harder for true Fr to see the field. It's not a knock on him I just think that he will be played similar to how Keyton was used this past year which was not much until the latter part of the season. You’re acting like he’s built like Brian Mauer.
