Top 5 Defensive Players

Al Wilson is by far number 1.
Eric Berry would be number 2.
I could name off list of guys who could be put in the top 5, but these guys are by far the top 2.

What, are you talking the last 15 years? There were several great players in the 60s and 70s. Doug Atkins, who played DE in the 50s for the Vols, was not only a AA in college but I think he's in the NFL Hall of Fame. That might qualify him!

Out of all the players listed(right now) Dale Carter is the only 2-time All American we have. Also , you're all forgetting Keith Delong(All-American '88).

I am surprised, but pleasantly so, that Haynesworth's better pro career hasn't made fans forget that Henderson was better in college.

A more egregious example is Donte Stallworth. I remember very little of him in college. Washington was the better college receiver. Stallworth the better pro.

Henderson has been a great pro. Big Al is a bit more hyped, but there haven't been many DTs better than John Henderson over the last 8 years. And given Al's injury history, I'd say that Henderson has actually been the more productive player.
