When you look at the teams who are ranked highest in recruits signed, they all have recent traditions of winning and winning big. Except one: Tennessee. Which make this recruiting job by CBJ & his staff all the more remarkable.

But being able to put talented recruits on the field for spring & fall practice is only the first step. Considering what happened after last season's win over USCe, it remains to be seen if this staff can "coach 'em up" to go toe to toe with the bullies in the SEC.

But that's in the future. For today, let's salute CBJ for a job well done. He deserves a tremendous amount of credit for bringing this much football talent back where it belongs - the University of Tennessee.

This is an outstanding class, but let's not ignore the tremendous effect all the legacy recruits have had on the outcome. It's not like this class was made from scratch.

More important than the overall ranking is the #1 ranking in the East. Our return to dominance starts with winning the East.

BTW, USC passed UT by .03 stars when Jackson committed to them. UT is now 6th and tied with Auburn.

Best class in many, many years, and for where the program is at, it could be the most important. It isn't easy to recruit like this coming of three 5-7 seasons. This staff deserves a lot of praise for their hard work, but it never stops to compete with the best in the SEC the Vols need two more classes of similar caliber.

Wrong. Legacy recruits go elsewhere with previous coach/staff.

Had to recruit all legacies and families to be Vols...Incredible job by Butch and staff

Just my 2 cents

Love the Class !!! Did anybody notice Bama ? Only matters because we are the only East School that plays them every year. Iregardless that game plays into who wins their side of the Conf. So until we can recruit with them we are behind the 8-ball.

Dont worry. 2 of those 6 five stars will get arrested. 2 will be flat out busts. 1 will ride the pine until his senior year. Our four stars match up. Its all good.

Looks like Athens in the pic. Another win with by the MOAT. Most Overrated All Time that is ... LOL. Gosh, I hope some of our current class ends up being as overrated as Jason Allen.

Being as unbiased as we can be, how much do the possible "one time" factors play into Butch's success this year? In other words, was the legacy/better than normal in-state talent/huge number of signees/able to start because we are depleted type stuff what drove this train, or are guys hearing that this is sustainable? Because if it is, LOOK THE F OUT!!
