USC (They don't play anybody all the way to the ROSE bowl)
TEXAS (see above. Big 12 way down this year)
LSU (they get UF and UT at their place)
NOTRE DAME (Will have one lose but media loves these guys)
OHIO STATE (Should have beat Texas. No other competition this year)

Sorry, i know everyone is looking for UT in the list but I don't see UT getting the love with one lost the Ohio State and Notre Dame will get. Also notice, my beloved Gators are not in there either.

I say:
USC [for sure]
Texas
LSU
Va.Tech
Notre Dame

I'm pretty confident about USC being number 1, but not real confident about my other picks...its kinda early to tell

Let's list who will NOT be in the top 5 at the finish of the season....

Notre Dame -- give me a break, they don't have chance

Ohio State -- another loss to Michigan will give them 2 losses on the season.

LSU -- new coach, new style, and at least 2 losses.

Michigan -- maybe, but one more loss and they are out.

Florida -- new coach, old style, same results as last 2 seasons.

Who might be in:

Southern Cal -- easy schedule
Tennessee -- has played great on the road against ranked teams
Texas -- the Big 12 isn't looking so tough either
Georgia -- good coach, lots of talent
Virginia Tech -- Vick
Purdue -- will win the Big 11

Florida will be in the Peach Bowl trying not to lose 5 games in a season for the FOURTH straight season.

Wow, that is an amazing amount of OVERHYPE for Notre Dame. They are getting way too much credit for 2, count them 2, early wins. They will lose a game this season. Weis is not a miracle worker.

1. UTK
2. Louisville (only loss is in NC)
3. USC (with 1 loss)
4. Ohio State (with 1 loss)
5. Texas (with 1 loss)

1. USC

USC gets into the Rose Bowl undefeated, plays against an also-undefeated Texas team and wins a tight one.

2. Louisville

Louisville wins the Fiesta Bowl to stay undefeated but will make no national title appearance because they play in the Big Least

3. Texas

Texas drops from 2 to 3 after losing a close one with USC

4. Tennessee

Tennessee makes it to fourth after having an early loss (to UF or LSU) but still manages to win the SEC and the Sugar Bowl.

5. Ohio State

Ohio State still finishes strong despite the close loss to Texas and wins the Big Ten.

rounding out the rest of the top 10...

6. Virginia Tech
7. California
8. LSU
9. FSU
10. Vanderbilt

Oh no, more over confidence. Somebody stop it. I don't know what we, VOLNATION would do. Somebody checkout a rival board and make sure we are posting like a non-over-confident fan based should be posting.
