The story obviously favored track times over 40 times which gives it more credibility as only the former has any genuine claim to cross referenceable accuracy. The different examples cited (55,60,100,hurdles) do make direct comparison iffy but an elite time at any given distance is still a viable reference point.
The thing with Berry is that while he may not actually be as fast as some in the absolute sense his ability to utilize his speed is obviously elite to anyone that's watched his return game.
Evan Berry has breakaway speed. He's not too fast in the 1st 20-30 yards in the open field but after that his breakaway speed is quite incredible.
Ever seen anybody run him down from behind? Not me! That's the breakaway & closing speed to the finish line that he has.
He's faster than he even looks. Seems like he would make a good cover CB with that type of speed but he can barely make the safety depth chart.
Haha. He was right behind 4 year starter Brian Randolph. He was 2nd team.
Listen... HE WAS RECOVERING from surgery in the Spring. Thats why Griffen and Abernathy are ahead of him. Why is that so hard for you to understand???
Gaulden could be the starter regardless because hes that good.
But you keep painting Evan Berry to be some scrub at safety...
and he doesnt have the hips to play CB.
I'm not making any excuses for Evan Berry period. Use the past injury all you want. He's just not good enough in comparison to what we already have & is coming at the safety position. He's well worth the price of admission just for his KR duties.
It ain't no excuse you stubborn person...
He can't compete if hes not practicing (on the field) DUE to injury.
I guess Gaulden was a bum because he wasnt on the field last year..
Abernathy and Griffin were both on the team last year yet they were not ahead of him.
Keep ignoring that though.
