Also, he was a TE but Jason Witten deserves love for his contributions as a receiving TE.

Witten would be around 4 or 5 on my list. My dad is a notre dame fan, and raved about how Witten was one of the best recieving te to play the game.

Peerless was a big part of the '98 NC, but no way was he better than Meachem. If you go back and watch games, Peerless had alot of dropped balls. Mine would be:

1. Robert Meachem
2. Donte Stallworth
3. Peerless Price
4. Cedric Wilson
5. Kelly Washington
6. Denarius Moore
7. DaRick Rogers
8. Justin Hunter
9. Jayson Swain
10. Bret Smith

This is mine^. When did Parker leave?

Since UT is known as WR-U, I got to thinking about some of the great WRs we have had since 1998 to consider whether the designation is still justified. I believe it is, and without looking up any stats, I have made a list of MY top 10 favorites since the magical 1998 season. I could very possibly be forgetting some, but here's my list completely from memory:

10. Gerald Jones
9. Jayson Swain
8. James Banks
7. Cedric Wilson
6. Denarius Moore
5. Da'Rick Rogers
4. Donte Stallworth
3. Justin Hunter
2. Robert Meachem
1. Peerless Price

How do you feel about this list? Who makes your list? Did I leave out any obvious candidates? Discuss....

1998-Present? You eliminate many of the best wide receivers to ever grace the field in Neyland with that timeframe.

The WR-U moniker was alive and well in the 1990's. The idea spawned from the thought that we may or may not deserve to continue to hold the title. I think these lists suggest that WR-U is alive and well. (This was explained in the OP btw)

That seems like a bit of a stretch at first, but when you consider names like Sievers, Morgan, Gault, Hancock, McGee, Pickens, Harper, Kent, Nash . . .

Don't leave out Jermaine Copeland.

No way Price doesn't make all time 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's. The Fiesta Bowl alone puts him on at least 10. Now, I love some TD Woods, Joey Clinkscales, McGee and Carl Pickens. Those guys were the best big play guys when i was a kid. Also, there was a 5'6" wide receiver/defensive back wearing #6. I thought he played for the Cardinals for awhile. Anyone remember his name?

Your OP actually tells me that UT's Wide Receiver U moniker should be dead. In your top 10 list from 1998 to present you've listed a grand total of 3 wide receivers that have gone on to be good #2 or #3 wide receivers on NFL teams. The best potential of your entire Top 10 is in two still largely unproven wide receivers on our current roster. They may end up being great. They may end up being NFL busts. Sorry. That doesn't cut it to be called Wide Receiver U.

I believe he said 90's. Do u really want to start listing all the great college and pro Vols from 90 forward. If so, u will look pretty dumb bc there are tons of greats, especially in 90's. I agree the moniker continues

Wrong

NFLers - Price, Washington, Stallworth, Meachem, Moore (rising star). Thats 5. 2 more are still at UT so thats 5/8 AND the 2 here are NFL locks. Id say we're doing ok @WR
