Top 10 reasons that could derail 2016 Vols

I certainly agree with reason number one that Florida is a "must win."

ALL 10 are 100% TRUE...

But ALL 10 could be said for ANY of Tennesee's opponents...as well.

Let's hope it's THEM instead of US...and that the last 15+ years of struggle have lead to THIS (instead of MORE struggle)

Man, I need football season to get here asap. Haven't had any real news in forever. Just increasingly more generic articles.

UT's Olympians could bring the Zika virus back from Rio and infiltrate campus, too. Not sure how they could leave that off the list.

Let me say, for the 100th time, the number one reason our season could be derailed is due to a lack of consistent passing attack. Injuries to key positions could be number one, but I'm personally sick of our inept passing attack. We are so close to being very dynamic on offense, just be more effective with the passing game. Come ON!!!! Practice it until you are sick of it!!!

Good God, did you really have to summon D4H so dramatically??

Lol. Just realize, the passing attack isn't just the QB. The blocking has to be solid and the receivers have to get separation and make the catch. There is enough blame to go around between those 3 phases

Let's score it out:

10. Trip to A&M -- losing this game won't "derail" us from our main team goals. DENIED
9. Eason & UGa -- even losing to UGa won't necessarily cost us any goals, but it could. LEGIT
8. Overlooking a Team -- It is proven that Butch doesn't overlook teams. DENIED
7. Lack of a Passing Game -- Could be a significant factor. LEGIT
6. Medley's Kicking -- Nah, Medley's good, he just had a 5-game sophomore slump. DENIED
5. Battle at Bristol -- Heck no, this is a launching platform, not a derail. DENIED
4. Injuries -- Could happen. Fingers crossed that it doesn't, but it could. LEGIT
3. Weak SEC East -- Convoluted argument that, in the end, makes little sense. DENIED
2. Late-Game Scenarios -- Hate to say it, but it's a valid concern until proven fixed. LEGIT
1. Florida -- Like #9, this won't necessarily cost us our goals, but it could. LEGIT

So, my score for this article: 5/10. There are five legit potential derailers to keep a close eye on. In my personal view, injuries are the #1 concern (as every year), with passing game improvement and the ability to finish in the 4th qtr next in importance. The UGa and Florida games are maybe/maybe nots. The rest? Nah, we good.

Go Vols!

Oh, I completely agree. But one of those phases is considered off-limits by Certain Persons here.

And let me say that I think that Dobbs is a fantastic quarterback, along with being an all-around awesome human being. I just don't think that he is the epitome in every single aspect of quarterback-ness. And there isn't one human being that could reach this, as it's impossible for one human to be the best at all the different quarterback values, so maybe certain people could be a little less defensive...

Wrong my friend. The number one reason our season could be derailed is injuries. Its that simple.

Good analysis JP.

I'd only add #6 as a legit concern. Medley was bad last year until we got through the tough part of the schedule...as in one of the worst in the country bad.

No, IMHO, until he shows he can hit a big kick/be consistently good vs the best teams on the schedule.....particularly from 40+ yds out, Lewis's concern/reason is legit.

We're gonna need him to be reliable, even clutch if we're gonna get to where we all think this team can get.
