Top 10 College Football Factories on NFL Network

No, Ernie Davis. The first African-American Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick in 1961. Broke all of Jim Brown's rushing record there. He died of leukemia in 1963 at the age of 23, but was supposed to be the next Jim Brown, possibly better.

I was joking, as Al Davis is actually in the Pro Football HOF, and went to Syracuse.

I knew Al was quite a player, but had no idea he went to Syracuse. I had a High School teacher who played DB at Syracuse with Ernie Davis and would tell us some amazing stories about him.

Miami, FSU, Florida and Ohio State are all up there, either right with Tennessee or they have more.

Last night the NFL Network aired their top ten list of "College Football Factories." Best I can remember, the top 10 schools were:

10. Tennessee
9. The entire MAC conference (BS that a conference makes it on this list)
8. Syracuse (a few stars, but questionable that they are ahead of us here)
7. Penn State
6. Alabama
5. Michigan
4. Ohio State
3. Notre Dame
2. Miami
1. USC

Notable omissions: Texas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU.

I think I posted it on here before, but I found out one time that 12% of the players in the NFL are from one of five SEC teams. Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU each have like 30 something starters in the NFL right now.

Alabama only has like 20 something (they have been down recently).

USC and Ohio state are comparable, if I remember, but other than that, no one had any outs to those 5 teams.

Edit: oops, I forgot Miami and FSU. Although FSU is declining in current starters similar to Alabama

Didn't they have a linebacker go to the Texans a year or two ago? I thought Penn St was known for draft flops as much as anything.

Demeco ryans was a 2nd round pick in the 2006 draft and DROY. Mario Williams was their first round pick.

This list smells of someone who did not do any research whatsoever.

looking at the top 5, i'd say the person who did the list is a rose bowl homer. IE someone who pimps the b10/p10 all the time. (ND is honorary b10 and you can't deny miami pumps out pros)
