Do you think that if Tennessee got invited to play in the music city bowl, they would reject it? Back when we went 5-6, before we got eliminated from bowl contention, I always thought that they would NOT lower their standards and play in the bowl game. Maybe its just me. What say you?

Not sure if the SEC would allow it? Maybe if the league had already filled their allotment of bowl tie-ins?

I doubt if we would ever decline a bowl game. Plus, I wouldn't want to ever reach the arrogance of Notre Dame.

There's no way that they reject a bowl. That's an extra month of practice and I'm pretty sure the new guys are also allowed to practice with the team. It's just too valuable.

no way...the money for bowl games is too much incentive and the bad publicity we would get would be in large quantities.

I am certainly not a fan of anything Notre Dame, but I think that was one of the all time great statements by a college football team when they declined to play in one of the meaningless lower tier bowl games. I for one would love to see UT make that kind of statement. But in today's commercilaized contracts, money runs everything atmosphere, doubt they even would have the choice.
