Too much ice

If you’re not collecting an efin before they start then that’s you hurting the system. It’s been my experience that the American subs are way worse at not having paperwork in order. Insurance?!?!? These MFers (especially the Americans) don’t have workers comp. They pay for an exemption. It’s like 20$
This still doesn’t help me understand how an illegal alien sub with a EFiN is paying federal income tax?

Guess I’m a MFer American as I’m Workers Comp exempt in Tennessee (it was over $200 last time I updated). I’m my only employee for a company I started after retiring from my 35 year corporate career. I pay a stupid amount for my health insurance already so I’m covered if I injure myself somehow. I tried buying workers comp at first but the insurance company wanted more than my IRS tax return for their audit. It became more hassle than I was willing to accept hence the exemption choice.

By filing his taxes.
I sold a company a couple years back I had 25 employees.

My new company is just me, my 2 sons and 1 occasional sub.
I too no longer pay workers comp and am exempt.
I too pay stupid health insurance now.

Thanks for owning that your insurance complaint was BS.

I can only speak for construction contractors but if you don’t give me your efin before you start then you are not working. And if I issue a 1099 and you don’t file then they come get you for tax evasion.

Believe it or not most “illegals” that work do so for the same pay as anyone else. They have bank accounts and drivers licenses.

Again, if the trumpsters want to deport people committing crimes then have at it. But people here 20+ years with children who are citizens and paying taxes should be left alone
How do they come after an illegal for tax evasion? How do they know where to find them? Someone with a SS# who pays taxes for years then decides to quit filing a return often takes 5+ years before they “come after them”?

Hey let me pay my $50 every two years for an exempt vs 175 a month.

Americans are definitely worse, not having proper paperwork letting things expire. We sub out to companies with dozens of Mexicans and have never had any issues

Don’t follow you here - only gave my reasons why I personally chose to go the exempt route due to continually having to correspond to an insurance company disproportionately more than all my other insurance providers combined. Maybe I just had a crappy company experience?

It takes less than a year for the IRS to calll when I issue a 1099 and a person and that doesn’t file. If it’s more than one the same year they come ask the accountant about it in person. It may take them a few years to prosecute but they paying closer attention than most think.

Now I’m sure my experience as a individual will be less of a priority than when I had a decent sized company going, but the point remains that Ice is chasing down “non threats” to pad their numbers while doing more damage than good.

Didn’t realize the IRS contacted the company issuing the 1099 if the recipient didn’t file.

I’ve never made any comments about ICE so you might have me confused with another poster. I was only curious how illegals are taxed.

workers comp is a serious pain to the company’s that provide it. They do not wish to deal with smaller employers so those premiums are artificially inflated to drive people to the exemptions. I had it explained to me in detail by the lawyer once….but basically it’s not profitable for ins companies to insure people with less than 250 direct employees.

Which is why I said that “illegals” are not a problem to the insurance industry.

Technically they contacted the accounting firm (if we’re being accurate) but same difference.

And I apologize if I came off as snippy.

You’ll get an audit if there’s any issues like workers not having proper paperwork and you’ll get fined

I’m really pissy right now because my best sub and friend who has worked for me over 10 years has had his Greencard revoked and is having to self deport leaving his wife and daughter here while he goes back to Mexico and I spend the next year or two getting it straightened out.

His crime….he came here illegally 28 years ago as a child.
Never been in trouble and pays taxes.

So again I apologize for snapping at you but I’m aggravated about the lack of common sense being applied here

I said the majority of them don't which is factual
Not sure why lie when you can go back to what you said
They actually do not....they pay no federal income tax...just because you are counting "they pay groceries and property taxes" with the illegal under the table money while also utilizing taxpayer services as paying taxes, doesn't make it so.

ICE is a complete disgrace to the most important protections in the constitution. It also costs a lot of money to make these mistakes. MAGA

If this is true he's pissing in the wind.

FALSE CLAIM: George Retes was wrongly arrested and held by ICE.

THE FACTS: As U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and ICE agents were executing criminal search warrants on July 10 at the marijuana sites in Camarillo, CA, George Retes—a U.S. citizen—became violent and refused to comply with law enforcement. He challenged agents and blocked their route by refusing to move his vehicle out of the road. CBP arrested Retes for assault.
