I’m willing to bet places like Texas and Arizona have a bigger problem than Minnesota yet we don’t see the strong arm tactics like we are in Minnesota. There does seem to be a political retribution component to this.

He actually had no right to be where he was. He played a stupid game, even his family warned him not to out there and he won a stupid prize. Have zero sympathy for him, but I do feel bad for his family. No one's free speech is being violated and no one's right to bear arms is being violated. I understand your point, but if “shutting off funds” was the answer, why have the other attempts to do so failed?

(It may be a simple as lack of will, or pure posturing, but other efforts to “defund” haven’t worked. See, for example, the efforts to defund child care subsidies to illegal immigrants just last week.)

Texas works closely with ICE. They have deported a lot of illegals out of Texas.
