Most protests already have streets blocked off, in NYC they generally work with NYPD and I assume you know that. But yeah "blocking streets" doesn't make something violent and acting like jaywalking is violence is VN classic material. That's so funny

If you don't have a permit, it's not "blocked off"....I am not talking about those protests...I am talking about people keeping people from going to work, home, to get their kids, going to the hospital, etc.

As usual you are conflating two different things, but luckily most cities don't allow this type of behavior....and restricting someone's movement IS violence....

That's not how protests work, they are generally walking or demonstrating rather than picking out one car, surrounding it and menacing them. That's a lot more than jaywalking

Again "jaywalking" itself is not the issue, I included it because some jurisdictions will charge those protestors with jaywalking, some will charge them with kidnapping or similar charges.. What recently happened in Memphis was due to this type of "protest"

This is a weird hypothetical where a group of people picks out one car, stands there for 2 hours without doing anything violent or bothering anyone else, and then leaves. That's not violence and doesn't even sound like a protest. It seems telling that you're making up this tortured hypo rather than giving an example that actually happened

Most normal jurisdictions prevent this type of stuff....only in places like NY, CA, Memphis, Minneapolis etc. do you get where police arresting these idiots or citizens defending themselves against it get criticized.

The fact is the Broken Windows Theory and the Crime Triad are old but real and reliable criminal justice theories and they exist today despite what leftists who make excuses for criminals say
