It's not a civil offense....it's a federal criminal offense to enter the country illegally...the only illegals who only violate a civil ordinance are the ones who overstay student visas

Actually I was thinking on the lines of an expired residency. Purposely entering illegally is a federal crime.

They ALL committed the crime of it if they entered the country illegally..

You do realize that is what ICE is doing right? Several hundred thousands already have been found in violation and have deportation orders for more than 10-20 years
