Too much ice

You act as if this is a bad thing. They can all fing quit for all I care, attorneys qualified to work for the government are a dime a dozen.
Oh no I’m totally ok with her quitting. More power to her. I’m just busting out laughing how she went off on a judge in open court on how f$&@ed up the admin effort in MN is. If you didn’t read it give it a look. It will make you smile

Plus I hear Lindsey Halligan is available 😂

Trump admin attorney leaves Minnesota after telling judge her job ‘sucks’ amid crush of immigration cases

They didn’t want that attorney anyway. Or the other 14 that already quit 😂
The level of leadership incompetence is almost something out of an Onion article:

“Sometime I wish you would just hold me in contempt, your honor, so that I can have a full 24 hours of sleep. I work days and night just because people (are) still in there,” Le said.
“And, yes, procedure in place right now sucks. I’m trying to fix it,” she continued. “I am here with you, your honor. What do you want me to do? The system sucks. This job sucks. And I am trying every breath that I have so that I can get you what you need.”
Last week, the chief judge of the state’s federal trial-level court said ICE “has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence” and specifically called out nearly 100 court orders he said had been violated in recent weeks.
“It takes 10 e-mails to get a release condition to be corrected,” Le told Judge Blackwell on Tuesday. “It take(s) two escalation(s) and a threat that I will walk out for that to be corrected.”

What a disaster. I support deporting illegals, sure. But for heavens sake, have at least some level of competence when doing it. This is what happens when you get yes men in positions they aren’t qualified for.

Sounds like a newb at representing idiot clients. At some point lawyers grow up and realize that their job is to give good advice and if the clients don’t follow it that’s between them and the judge.

I went back and read it, sounds like she wasn't up to the job and wasn't representing her client very well.

Oh I think her primary fault is she cared about the people being held. That simply isn’t allowed. She made a specify comment on how hard it was to get release conditions processed due to gross lack of action by DHS.

I especially enjoyed the comment on how the administration has already violated more court orders in MN in January than some depts have in their entire existence. Only the best! 😂

There are problems within DHS, which it being a govt agency is to be expected since most government employees are incompetents that are unemployable in the private sector.

The special sauce comment? Sure it was. But it did trigger your Trump protection reflex too. I laughed at the flex though

Deliver goes as far back as pizza deliveries. It's not something almost anyone hasn't done. I do it under time management pressures only. I'm somewhat of a cheapskate of the family though.

She sounds absolutely exhausted and at her wits end. If she was an idiot and incompetent I think she’d still be there 🤷‍♂️

She's an incompetent idiot, you can bet on it. If she wasn't she'd be in the private sector.

My firm belief is the typical govt employee wakes up in the morning with 2 goals. Do as little work as possible while being the biggest PITA they can to anyone trying to be productive.

Food delivery has sure. Food delivery service as widely available is pretty new. Calling Dominos and getting a pizza delivered is decades old. Getting on a 3rd party app like Grub Hub and ordering a Dave’s Double and large fry is somewhat new.

And as I’ve said I’ve never used it no need. Granted if I were still traveling for work and living out of hotels I can think of many a time I would have used it and stayed in my room and watched a game. But it wasn’t readily available then and where I travelled

Eh I’d guess she’s largely green out of school. Get on with the gov and learn the ropes then jump private after she knows the system and how to work it and has some marketable experience. No actual idea just guessing.

We do. I am guessing this is a gotcha kind of question but I'll see if I can explain . My comment was that I didn't think the policy change was wise. I would have liked him to research the possible effects instead of implementing them the first week. RT85 tied it to vaccine mandates. I don't see a parallel between anti vax people and mentally ill. I belief we have an obligation to take care of people that don't have the ability to themselves. The convo wasn't worth his time.
Who gets to define mentally ill and where does the line get drawn in your opinion? Should someone with bad depression be forced to medicate? What about physically ill and someone with cancer refusing chemo?

It’s been defined legally. Being a danger to yourself and others i.e. suicidal, homicidal, or violent thoughts or delusional to a point of being a danger

Nothing changed about how these people are treated in NYC

Mamdani said he has continued a policy of “involuntary removal” that advocates say can violate people’s basic rights if used too broadly, but that proponents say is essential for protecting people who are in danger. He said police and emergency workers took 18 people to hospitals for mental health treatment against their will over the past week.

“That policy continues as it was under the previous administration,” he said. “Some examples are if a New Yorker is seen not adequately clothed in this kind of winter, if a New Yorker's behavior is that which is threatening to others around them.”

The government as a whole is grossly incompetent
